🗺️ Overview

OTTO SEO can automatically deploy FAQ schema to your pages to improve search visibility. However, you may want to remove FAQ schema from specific pages — such as your homepage — or adjust how a page is classified. This article explains the self-serve steps available to you and what to have ready if you need further help.

↩️ Rolling Back FAQs from a Page

If you need to remove FAQ schema that was deployed to a page, follow these steps inside OTTO SEO:

  1. Open your OTTO SEO project and navigate to the page you want to update.
  2. Locate the FAQ schema task associated with that page in your task list.
  3. Change the task status to roll back or disable the deployed FAQ schema for that URL.
  4. Save your changes and confirm the schema has been removed by rechecking the page.

If you do not see a rollback or disable option for the relevant task, this may require support assistance. In that case, please have the following ready:

  • The name of your OTTO SEO project
  • The exact URL(s) of the page(s) you want to roll back FAQ schema from
  • Confirmation of which schema type was deployed (e.g. FAQ schema)
  • Any error messages or unexpected behaviour you have observed, including timestamps if available

📋 Changing the Page Type of a Page

OTTO uses the page type to determine which optimisations are appropriate for each URL. To update the page type for a page, follow these steps inside OTTO SEO:

  1. Open your OTTO SEO project and find the URL you want to reconfigure.
  2. Locate the page type setting for that URL.
  3. Select the correct page type from the available options (for example, changing a page from a blog post type to a homepage type).
  4. Save your changes and review the updated task list to confirm the correct optimisations are now shown for that page.

If the page type option is not available or does not save correctly, please have the following ready when contacting support:

  • The name of your OTTO SEO project
  • The exact URL of the page you want to reconfigure
  • The current page type shown for that URL
  • The page type you believe is correct and why (e.g. the page is a homepage, not a blog post)

💡 Tips and Best Practices

  • Review your task list after any configuration change to confirm the correct optimisations are active for each page.
  • Check each URL individually if you need to roll back schema or update page types across multiple pages.
