🔍 Overview
When setting up an OTTO SEO project, the platform may automatically detect and pre-fill a subdomain (for example, services.yourdomain.com) instead of your root domain (yourdomain.com). This is a known bug that has been reported during OTTO project setup.
This article explains what to expect and what information to have ready so our team can resolve this for you quickly.
⚙️ What Is Happening
During OTTO project creation, the platform may automatically select a subdomain rather than the root domain you intended to use. This is not the expected behavior and requires a backend correction by our support team. There are no self-serve steps that reliably resolve this issue on your own.
⚠️ What to Do
Because this issue requires action on the backend, please contact our support team as soon as you notice the domain has been set incorrectly. To help us resolve this as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready when you reach out:
- Your OTTO project name as it appears in the platform.
- The subdomain that was auto-detected (for example, services.yourdomain.com).
- The correct root domain you want the project to use (for example, yourdomain.com).
- The approximate date and time the project was created or when you first noticed the incorrect domain.
Do not continue configuring the OTTO project with the incorrect domain in place, as this may affect the accuracy of your SEO data and recommendations.
If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
