🔍 What This Error Means
If you see a "generation deadline exceeded" error while trying to generate an article in Content Genius, it means the system did not complete the article within the expected time window. This error is caused by a platform-side outage or infrastructure issue — not by anything you did wrong. When an outage affects the Content Genius service, article generation requests time out before they can finish.
Because this is a backend infrastructure event, there are no self-serve steps that will resolve it. The fix requires action from the Search Atlas engineering team.
⚠️ What to Expect During an Outage
While a Content Genius outage is active, article generation attempts will continue to fail with this error regardless of how many times you retry. Once the engineering team has resolved the underlying issue, generation will resume normally. You do not need to change any settings or inputs — the error is not related to your content or configuration.
