Overview

If you have recently migrated your website to a new platform — such as Lovable, a custom CMS, or any non-standard builder — you will need to reinstall the OTTO pixel to resume SEO automation. Custom CMS platforms and Lovable builds do not always have a dedicated plugin or settings field for tracking scripts. The recommended approach is to install the OTTO pixel via Google Tag Manager (GTM).

Step 1: Locate Your OTTO Pixel Code

The OTTO pixel is unique to each website project. To find it, log in to Search Atlas and open your OTTO project. If you are not sure where the pixel snippet is located within your account, note your project name and reach out using the instructions at the bottom of this article — a teammate will confirm the exact location for your account.

Keep this tab open while you complete the installation on your new site.

Step 2: Install the OTTO Pixel via Google Tag Manager

Using GTM is the most reliable method for custom CMS platforms and Lovable sites, since it does not require direct access to the site's source code. Log in to your Google Tag Manager account, open the workspace for the migrated website, and add a new tag using the Custom HTML tag type. Paste the full OTTO pixel code snippet into the HTML field, set the trigger so the tag fires on all pages of your site, then save and publish the container. You can use GTM's preview functionality to verify the tag is firing correctly before closing your session.

Confirming the Pixel Is Active

After installation, allow a short time for data to begin flowing. If you confirmed the tag is firing via GTM's preview functionality, the pixel is active.

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
