🔍 Overview
When a press release shows a Generated status in PR Distribution, the item row itself is not directly clickable. Instead, you need to use a specific action button to open and edit the draft. This article explains exactly where to find that button and how to make changes to your content.
🗺️ Getting to Your Press Releases
- In the left sidebar, click Authority.
- Select PR Distribution. You are now on the /outreach/press-release page.
- Locate your press release in the list. Confirm it shows a status of Generated.
⚠️ Why You Cannot Click the Row Directly
Press releases with a Generated status are not row-clickable in the same way other items may be. Clicking on the title or anywhere along the row will not open an editor. This is expected behaviour. To access and edit the content, you must use the dedicated action button associated with that item.
✏️ How to Edit a Generated Press Release
- Find your press release in the PR Distribution list.
- Look to the right side of the row for the available action buttons.
- Click Resume. This opens the generated draft in the editor so you can review and modify the content before distribution.
- Make your changes inside the editor.
- When finished, save or proceed with the next steps in the workflow.
Note: The Resume action is the correct entry point for any press release at the Generated stage. The other available actions — View report, Word, and HTML — serve different purposes and do not open an editable version of the draft.
📋 Summary of Available Actions by Stage
- New Release — starts a brand-new press release from scratch.
- Resume — opens a Generated draft so you can edit and complete it.
- View report — displays distribution and performance data for a published release.
- Word — downloads the press release as a Word document.
- HTML — downloads the press release in HTML format.
💡 Tips
- If you do not see the Resume button, try refreshing the page. The action buttons can occasionally take a moment to load.
- Make sure your browser zoom level is set to 100%. At higher zoom levels, action buttons can shift off-screen and appear unclickable.
- If the button appears greyed out, the press release may be processing. Wait a few seconds and refresh before trying again.
