The Backlinks section provides a complete view of all links pointing to a domain, including their sources, growth trends, attributes, and structure. This tool lets you measure link authority, track backlink acquisition and losses, analyze link quality, and explore the full ecosystem of domains, anchors, and IPs connected to your website. You can also segment and filter backlinks using advanced controls to uncover actionable SEO insights.

🚀 How to Access Backlinks

Backlinks navigation from Site Explorer

From the left sidebar, click Site Metrics, then click Backlinks. Enter your domain in the search bar, select Domain from the dropdown, choose a country (for example, United States), and click Search.

📊 Top Metrics

Backlinks, Referring Domains, and Referring IPs metrics

At the top of the Backlinks dashboard: Backlinks shows the total number of links from other websites pointing to your target; Referring Domains shows the total number of unique domains linking to your target; and Referring IPs shows the total number of referring IPs with at least one link pointing to the analyzed domain or URL.

🎯 Scope Selector

Use the dropdown next to the search bar to change the analysis scope: Domain, Sub Domain, Target Page, or Sub Folder.

📈 Backlink Growth and Trends

Backlink growth and trends chart

The main chart displays backlink activity over time — New Links, New ref. domains, Lost ref. domains, and Lost Links — in a weekly view, helping you identify link-building trends and sudden gains or losses.

📉 Historical Totals

The Historical totals chart shows long-term trends for Backlinks and Ref. Domains.

🧩 Link Type and Attributes

A Link Type chart shows the distribution of backlink formats — Frame, Form, Image, and Text — and a Link Attributes view shows the follow versus nofollow distribution. Follow links pass link equity and boost the PageRank of the linked-to site; nofollow links do not.

🌐 Network Graph

The Network graph tab visualizes your main domain, the percentage of relevant domains, and domains on a shared network. If no data is available, it will show No data.

📑 Backlink Data Tabs

Backlinks tab with source pages and anchor text

Navigate across backlink datasets using the tabs: Network graph, Backlinks, Anchors, Referring domains, Referring IPs, Indexed pages, and Outbound domains.

Backlinks — lists every discovered backlink, with columns for DP, Source Page, EXT Links, INT Links, Anchor and Target URL, First Seen, and Last Seen. Quick filters include All, Active, New, and Lost; link type filters include All, Follow, Nofollow, Sponsored, and UGC.

Anchors — shows anchor text distribution, filterable by Contains, Exact match, or Does not contain, with columns for Anchor Text, Backlinks, Domains, First Seen, and Last Seen.

Referring Domains — lists linking domains, filterable by All, Active, New, Lost, domain authority, category, IP, target URL, and country, with columns for Authority, Domain/Category, Backlinks, Country/IP, First Seen, and Last Seen.

Referring IPs — shows backlink sources by IP, with columns for Country/IP, Domains, Backlinks, First Seen, and Last Seen.

Indexed Pages — shows pages receiving backlinks, with columns for Page, Backlinks, Domains, External Links, Internal Links, and Last Seen.

Outbound Domains — shows domains your site links to, filterable by authority score and category, with columns for AS, Domain/Category, Outbound Links, First Seen, and Last Seen.

🔎 Filters and Advanced Search

Filter backlinks by page title or URL, link placement (Content, Header, Footer, Sitewide), referring page platform (Ecommerce, Wiki, Blog, Message board, CMS), referring page language, target URL, referring domains, anchors, link type, or IP — and combine multiple conditions using the advanced filter builder.

📤 Export

You can export data from the Backlinks, Anchors, Referring domains, Referring IPs, and Outbound domains tabs.

The Backlinks module provides a full backlink intelligence system that combines link tracking and monitoring, growth and loss analysis, anchor and domain breakdown, IP-level insights, indexed page visibility, outbound linking analysis, and advanced filtering and segmentation — helping you evaluate backlink quality, uncover SEO opportunities, and monitor authority growth across the web.
