๐Ÿ”— Using Link Laboratory for Clients

Last updated on Oct 29, 2026

๐Ÿ”— What Link Laboratory is for

Link Laboratory helps you find relevant publishers and place links for your clients from inside Search Atlas. You browse opportunities, choose the ones that fit each client, and order only the placements you want. It is built for planned campaigns, not for contacting every site in the catalog.

๐Ÿ’ณ Do you pay every publisher?

No. You do not pay every publisher you see, filter, or shortlist. Browsing the catalog is part of planning. You pay for the placements you choose to order, at the price shown on that opportunity before you confirm.

  • Viewing a publisher does not create a charge.
  • Adding a site to a shortlist does not create a charge.
  • A charge applies only when you submit an order for that placement.
  • Each opportunity can have a different price. Always review the listed price, content requirements, and turnaround before you order.
  • Skip publishers that do not match the client, even if the metrics look strong.

If an order is declined or cannot be fulfilled, follow the status shown on that order. Do not place a second order for the same placement until you know the first one is closed.

โš™๏ธ How the process works

  1. Open the client campaign. Start from the client you are building links for so notes, targets, and orders stay together.
  2. Define the goal. Note the page you want to promote, the topic, and the type of mention that would help, such as a guest article or a relevant editorial placement.
  3. Filter publishers. Narrow by niche, topic, audience, and budget. Favor sites a real reader in that industry would trust.
  4. Review fit before you pay. Check relevance, editorial quality, and whether the price matches the clientโ€™s budget. Reject weak or off-topic options.
  5. Shortlist a small set. Keep a focused list for approval instead of ordering everything that passes a filter.
  6. Order only approved placements. Confirm the target URL, anchor or mention guidance, and any content brief. Submit the order only after the client or your team approves it.
  7. Track fulfillment. Watch the order status until the placement is live, then record the live URL for reporting.
  8. Report to the client. Share the live placements, the pages they support, and what you plan to order next.

๐Ÿ“Š A simple strategy for client work

Use a repeatable plan so spend stays intentional.

  • Set a budget per client. Decide how much that client can spend this month, then choose placements that fit inside it.
  • Lead with relevance. A closely related site is usually more useful than a broad site with bigger numbers.
  • Match one placement to one goal. Tie each order to a specific client page and topic so reporting stays clear.
  • Order in small batches. Place a few strong orders, review the results, then expand. This avoids paying for a large set of poor fits.
  • Vary the targets. Do not send every placement to the same URL unless that page is the only priority.
  • Keep approval in the workflow. For agency clients, shortlist first and order after approval so you never pay for a publisher the client did not want.
  • Protect quality. Skip sites that look unrelated, thin, or misleading. A cheaper placement is not a saving if it does not fit the brand.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Practical checks before you order

  • The publisherโ€™s topic matches the clientโ€™s offer.
  • The price is visible and accepted.
  • The target page is live and worth promoting.
  • The anchor or mention reads naturally.
  • You know who must approve the order.
  • You have a place to store the final live URL.

๐Ÿ’ก Common questions

Can I research without spending? Yes. Research and shortlisting do not require you to pay every publisher.

Should I order from as many publishers as possible? No. A smaller set of relevant placements is a better client strategy than broad ordering.

Who chooses the publisher? You do, on behalf of your client. Link Laboratory shows options and prices; it does not require you to buy from the full list.
