When you run OTTO SEO on a project, it can queue background jobs that automatically deploy fixes or publish content to your site. If you notice that a pending job contains incorrect information — such as wrong city or state data pulled into a Content Genius article — it is important to act quickly before the job completes and the content goes live.

This article explains how to locate an active OTTO SEO deployment, freeze it to stop further changes, and verify the job has been halted.

⚠️ When Should You Stop a Background Job?

• OTTO is about to publish or deploy content with incorrect location data (e.g., wrong cities or states).
• A Content Genius article was generated with settings that do not match your actual business location.
• You want to review all pending fixes before they go live.
• You are making changes to your site and do not want OTTO deploying at the same time.

🧭 How to Locate Your Active OTTO Deployment

1. Log in to Search Atlas and go to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation Projects).
2. On the All Sites page, find the project that has the active background job (for example, your sprinklelaundry.com project).
3. Check the project card for a status indicator showing a pending or in-progress deployment.

❄️ How to Freeze (Stop) the Deployment

1. From Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation Projects), locate the project with the active job.
2. Select the checkbox next to the project to highlight it.
3. Click Freeze sites in the toolbar at the top of the page. This immediately pauses all pending OTTO deploy actions for that project.
4. Confirm the project status changes to frozen. No further fixes or content will be deployed while the site is frozen.

Important: Freezing a site stops new deployments from going out but does not automatically roll back any changes that have already been applied. See the next section for guidance on reviewing what has already been deployed.

🔎 How to Review What Has Already Been Deployed

1. Go to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Site Audit → All Audits to see a full list of fixes OTTO has applied to your site.
2. Go to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Site Audit → Page Explorer to review individual pages and the changes made to them.
3. If content has already been published with incorrect location data, you will need to manually edit or delete that content from your CMS or WordPress dashboard.

✏️ Preventing Wrong Location Data in Future Jobs

• Before generating a Content Genius article, confirm that your project is set to the correct business location (city and state).
• Double-check OTTO's location settings in your project configuration before initiating a scan or deployment.
• Use the Freeze sites option any time you want to review pending fixes before they go live.
• After making corrections to your project settings, unfreeze the site and re-run the scan to generate a fresh, accurate set of recommendations.
