⚠️ Important: The Section Is Now Called OTTO SEO

The platform section previously referred to as AI SEO is now labelled OTTO SEO in the left sidebar. There is no separate Deployments tab. All deployed on-page fixes — including H1 heading changes — are managed directly inside OTTO SEO. Any instructions previously referencing AI SEO → Deployments are outdated; follow the steps below instead.

📍 Step 1 — Open Your Site

  1. Click OTTO SEO in the left sidebar.
  2. Click All Sites. Full path: Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites.
  3. Find your domain in the list and click it to open the site dashboard.

🔍 Step 2 — Locate the Deployed Heading Fix

Once inside the site dashboard you have two paths to find the deployed H1 fix:

  • Via Overview: Navigate to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Overview. Your site's active deployed fixes are listed here. Scroll through the on-page optimisations to find the heading fix associated with your target page (e.g. /aged-care/).
  • Via Page Explorer: Navigate to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Site Audit → Page Explorer. Search for or select the specific page URL. Open the page record and look inside the Headings section to find the deployed H1 fix.

✏️ Step 3 — Edit the H1 Heading Text

To replace the deployed H1 with a different value:

  1. Locate the heading fix for your target page using either path in Step 2.
  2. Click the edit (pencil) icon next to the deployed heading value.
  3. Type the new H1 text you want to appear on the page.
  4. Save the change. The updated heading will push to your connected site automatically.

🗑️ Step 4 — Remove the H1 Heading Fix Entirely

To revert the page to its original heading and remove the OTTO SEO-deployed H1:

  1. Locate the heading fix using either path in Step 2.
  2. Click the Undeploy or Remove option next to the fix. This may appear as a toggle, a trash icon, or a contextual menu depending on the view you are in.
  3. Confirm the action. The page will revert to its original H1 heading.

📋 Alternative — Check the Tasks View

If the heading change was submitted as an on-page recommendation rather than a direct deployment, it may appear as a pending task rather than a deployed fix. Navigate to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Tasks and filter by the relevant URL or fix type. You can edit or discard the heading recommendation directly from that list.

🔄 Changes Not Reflecting on Your Live Site?

Allow a few minutes after saving for the change to propagate to your live page. If the H1 still shows the old value after 10–15 minutes, check the following:

  • Hard-refresh your browser or view the page in an incognito/private window to rule out a local cache issue.
  • Confirm the fix status shows Deployed (for an edited heading) or Undeployed (for a removed heading) in the OTTO SEO dashboard.
  • If your site uses Cloudflare, purge the Cloudflare cache for that specific URL.
  • For WordPress sites, confirm the OTTO SEO plugin is active and the site is connected correctly via Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Installation Guide.
