🔍 What delayed generation means
OTTO creates recommendations after a site crawl discovers pages and identifies opportunities. A delay means the recommendation job has not completed yet; it does not necessarily indicate that OTTO is broken.
The exact issue is usually one of these:
- Waiting for crawl discovery: OTTO has not yet found new or changed pages.
- Processing delay: The recommendation job is still generating results, especially for bulk requests.
- No actionable change: The page is already optimal, so OTTO may have no recommendation to display.
- Autopilot timing: Older workflows could wait for the next weekly autopilot cycle instead of generating recommendations after discovery.
📊 Check the recommendation status
- Open OTTO SEO from the left sidebar.
- Select All Sites and open the affected site.
- Review the latest crawl and recommendation activity.
- Open Crawl Monitoring to confirm whether the crawl completed and whether new pages or changes were discovered.
- Check the recommendation list for a completed result, a pending job, or an indication that the page is already optimal.
🔄 Refresh the site data
If the crawl has completed but recommendations are not visible, go to Home and select Refresh data. Return to OTTO SEO → All Sites and review the site again.
Do not repeatedly submit the same request while a job is pending. Duplicate requests can increase processing time and make the status harder to interpret.
⚙️ Request a new generation
- Confirm that the site is installed and connected under OTTO SEO → Installation Guide.
- Run a scan from OTTO SEO → All Sites.
- Wait for the scan to finish and confirm that the target page was discovered.
- Review the generated recommendations. If the page is already optimized, no change may be suggested.
✅ When no recommendation is an expected result
OTTO may identify a page as already optimal. In that case, a recommendation is not missing—the system found no meaningful improvement to make. Minor wording changes are not generated when they are unlikely to improve the page.
🧭 If the issue still appears unresolved
Record the site, page URL, scan time, and the status shown in OTTO. Also note whether the crawl completed, whether the page was discovered, and whether the result says it is already optimal. This information helps distinguish a pending job from a completed no-op result or a platform issue.
