π What are macros?
Macros are reusable instructions or actions that help automate recurring SEO tasks. In Search Atlas, automated macros control what the platform runs, while macro examples in the SOP explain how those automations may be used.
π Why can the examples differ?
The automated macros and the SOP examples are separate components. Automated macros may be updated in the platform before the related example text is revised in the SOP. As a result, an example can appear outdated even though the automation itself is current and working as expected.
βοΈ What should I follow?
Use the active macro configuration in the platform as the source of truth. SOP examples are provided for guidance and may not reflect the latest macro names, settings, or output.
- Check the macro currently available in your platform.
- Review its current instructions and settings before running it.
- Compare the SOP example only as a general reference.
- Do not assume an outdated example means the automation is outdated.
βοΈ Updating an SOP example
If you maintain a copy of the SOP, update the example to match the current automated macro. Include the latest macro name, purpose, required inputs, and expected result. Avoid changing the automated macro based only on an older documentation example.
β Best practices
- Use current platform settings when creating or editing a macro.
- Test the macro with a representative task before using it at scale.
- Record meaningful changes in your internal SOP or workflow notes.
- Review examples periodically so your documentation stays aligned with the platform.
π¬ Need help?
If the active macro appears incorrect, is unavailable, or behaves differently from its current instructions, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.
