What Is OTTO SEO Disengaged Mode?

Search Atlas includes an OTTO SEO feature that assists with on-page optimisations in the content editor. When OTTO SEO is disengaged, some users have reported that parts of the interface become unresponsive — buttons appear visible but cannot be clicked, and actions do not register.

Common Symptoms

  • Clicking buttons in the editor produces no response after disengaging OTTO SEO.
  • Suggested changes are visible but cannot be accepted or dismissed.
  • The editor area appears interactive but does not respond to input.

Steps to Try Before Contacting Support

If your interface becomes unresponsive after disengaging OTTO SEO, work through the following steps in order:

  1. Hard refresh the page. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to force a full reload, bypassing any cached page state.
  2. Clear your browser cache and cookies for the Search Atlas domain, then reload the editor.
  3. Re-engage OTTO SEO, then disengage it again. Toggling the OTTO SEO setting off and back on (then off again) can reset the interface state and restore click responsiveness.
  4. Try a different browser or an incognito/private window. This rules out browser extensions or local cache as the cause.
  5. Reopen the project. Close the current editor tab, navigate back to your project list, and reopen the affected content item from scratch.

If none of the above steps restore responsiveness, escalate to our support team. When you reach out, please have the following ready so our team can investigate efficiently:

  • The name of the project or content item where the issue occurred.
  • Whether OTTO SEO was manually disengaged or changed state automatically.
  • The browser and operating system you are using.
  • A description of exactly which part of the interface stopped responding.
  • Any steps you already tried (e.g. refreshing, reopening the editor).
