Why Was I Charged After My Free Trial?
Search Atlas offers a 7-day free trial so you can explore the platform before committing to a paid plan. However, a charge can appear in two common situations:
- Trial ended before cancellation was completed: If your cancellation was submitted on the last day of the trial (Day 7), the billing system may have already processed the first payment depending on the exact time the trial expired versus when the cancellation was confirmed.
- Cancellation was not fully completed: Starting the cancellation process does not always finalize it. You must receive a confirmation message indicating your subscription has been successfully cancelled.
How to Confirm Your Subscription Is Cancelled
Check your subscription status in your account settings. If you are unsure whether your cancellation was completed, look for an on-screen confirmation message. If you did not receive one, your cancellation may not have been finalized.
Refund Eligibility
If you cancelled within your trial period and were still charged, you may be eligible for a full refund of that charge. Having proof of cancellation ready — a screenshot of the cancellation confirmation screen, or the date and time you submitted the request — helps your case get resolved faster.
How Long Does a Refund Take?
Once a refund request is approved, the time for it to appear on your statement depends on your bank or payment provider, not Search Atlas. If a significant amount of time has passed and the refund has not appeared, contact your bank directly with the refund confirmation details provided by our support team.
How to Avoid Future Unexpected Charges
Always make sure you receive a cancellation confirmation before assuming your subscription has ended.
