✍️ Generating an Article

Describe what you want to write, and Content Genius researches, drafts, and quality-checks a full, brand-aligned article for you.

To generate an article, open Content Genius, describe your topic, choose a Brand Vault, and press Generate — a complete draft opens in the editor in about 60–90 seconds.

Before you start: you need a Brand Vault selected. It supplies your business facts, voice, and images so the article sounds like you and stays accurate. See Using Brand Vault with Content Genius.

💡 What is article generation?

Content Genius turns a short brief into a finished, SEO-ready article. Instead of filling in a long form, you tell it what to write in plain language. It gathers sources and your brand details, drafts the article section by section, checks the result for quality and accuracy, and adds images — then hands you an editable draft.

Navigation: Left sidebar → Content → Content Genius

This opens the Content Genius home, where you'll see the composer: "What are we writing today?"

▶️ Generating an article

1. Describe your topic — In the composer, type a title, a keyword, or an idea — for example, "how to choose energy-efficient windows." Add target keyword chips if you want the article optimized around specific terms.
2. Choose your Brand Vault — Pick the Brand Vault for this article. This is required — it grounds the content in your real business facts and voice.
3. Set the language, length, and page type — Choose the output language, a length (the default, Optimized, balances length for you — or pick a shorter or longer target), and the page type (blog post, how-to guide, service page, and more). The page type and language shape how your article is structured and written.
4. Press Generate — Content Genius starts working. You'll see a progress screen with four stages and a live preview of the article as it forms.
5. Review in the editor — When the draft is ready, it opens automatically in the editor, complete with a quality score, recommendations, and the Atlas agent ready to help you refine it.

↩️ Starting from an existing article

Want to improve a page you already have? Choose Rework existing article in the composer. The box becomes a URL field — paste the article's URL, and Content Genius imports it and opens it in the editor with a quality score, ready to optimize.

What do I need before I can generate an article?

To generate an article, you need a Brand Vault selected. The Brand Vault provides your business facts, brand voice, and images, so generation is turned off until one is chosen.

How long does it take?

Generation usually takes about 60–90 seconds. You can navigate away while it runs — it finishes in the background and appears in your article list.

What if my article opens with a warning instead of finishing cleanly?

If the quality check flags something, your article still opens in the editor — nothing is lost. The issues appear in the Article Insights panel with recommended fixes you can apply, often with one click through the Atlas agent.

Can I change the topic or keywords after it's generated?

Yes. Once the draft is in the editor you can edit it directly, adjust target keywords, and ask the Atlas agent to rewrite or expand any section.

Does generating an article use my quota?

Yes. Each generated article draws from your content generation quota. Your available quota is shown in your account; the exact amount depends on your plan.
