📋 Why Page-Level Schema Suggestions Cannot Be Completed or Dismissed
OTTO and Brian generate page-level schema suggestions based on crawl data and content analysis. These suggestions are automated recommendations, not mandatory tasks. The platform currently does not provide a Dismiss or Mark Complete button for page-level schema items because they are informational only. They exist to guide your schema implementation strategy. If you have already implemented the recommended schema on the page, you can safely ignore the suggestion. No action is required in the platform to clear it.
⭐ Why Review and Aggregate Rating Fields Show Errors Without Review Data
Schema markup for Review and AggregateRating requires actual review content on the page — such as user ratings, testimonials, or structured review blocks. If OTTO detects schema markup for these types but finds no corresponding review data in the page content or structured data, it flags an error. This is a validation check to prevent invalid schema that could trigger Google warnings. To resolve: either add genuine review content to the page or remove the Review/AggregateRating schema markup from the page's code.
🔗 Why Redirected Old URLs Still Generate Internal Link Issues
Internal link warnings are based on the href attribute found in your site's HTML, not the final destination after redirects. If your pages still contain links pointing to old URLs (even if those URLs 301 redirect), OTTO flags them as internal link issues because: search engines crawl the raw link, redirect chains waste crawl budget, and users may experience slower navigation. Fix by updating all internal links to point directly to the current canonical URL. Use the Page Explorer (Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Site Audit → Page Explorer) to identify pages linking to old URLs, then update the links in your CMS or site code.
✅ Recommended Actions
- Treat page-level schema suggestions as advisory — implement if relevant, ignore if already done.
- Only include Review/AggregateRating schema when real review data exists on the page.
- Audit and update internal links to point directly to final URLs; avoid relying on redirects.
- Re-crawl after fixes: Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → Site Audit → Crawl Monitoring → Start New Crawl.
