🧭 Overview

If your Website Studio site is published through Namecheap, you need to complete two separate steps to fully activate your site's capabilities: installing the OTTO Pixel for tracking and automation, and connecting the CMS so your content can sync correctly. This article walks you through what to prepare and how to complete each step.

🛰️ Step 1 — Install the OTTO Pixel on Your Namecheap Site

The OTTO Pixel enables Search Atlas to track performance, run automations, and gather SEO data for your published site. To install it on a Namecheap-hosted Website Studio site, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account and navigate to Website Studio.
  2. Locate your published site and open its settings to find the OTTO Pixel snippet — this is a short JavaScript code block unique to your site.
  3. Log in to your Namecheap hosting control panel (cPanel or your WordPress dashboard, depending on your hosting type).
  4. If you are on WordPress, install a header/footer plugin (such as Insert Headers and Footers) and paste the OTTO Pixel snippet into the header section, then save.
  5. If you are on a static or HTML site, paste the OTTO Pixel snippet just before the closing </head> tag in each page's HTML file, then re-upload the files to Namecheap via cPanel File Manager or FTP.
  6. Return to Website Studio and confirm the pixel shows as active or connected for your site.

If the pixel does not show as connected after completing these steps, note the exact error message and the date and time of your attempt before reaching out for help.

🗂️ Step 2 — Connect the CMS to Your Namecheap-Hosted Site

Connecting the CMS allows Search Atlas to push and sync content directly to your Website Studio site. To link the CMS for a Namecheap-hosted site, follow these steps:

  1. In Search Atlas, go to the left sidebar → Website Studio and open the settings for your Namecheap-hosted site.
  2. Look for the CMS Connection or Integrations section and select Namecheap or Custom Host as your hosting provider.
  3. When prompted, enter your site's URL and any required API key or authentication credentials. These credentials are generated from your Namecheap hosting account or WordPress admin panel.
  4. If you are using WordPress on Namecheap, you may need to install the Search Atlas or OTTO WordPress plugin and authenticate it with your Search Atlas API key, which you can find in your Search Atlas account under Account Menu → Settings → API Keys.
  5. Complete the connection flow and verify that your site's content sync status shows as connected in Website Studio.

If you encounter a connection failure, record the exact error message and the date and time of the attempt. Also note your Namecheap hosting type (shared hosting, WordPress, static site) and your Website Studio site name or URL, as these details will be needed if you require further support.
