When working with Topical Maps in Search Atlas, you may encounter two related issues: clicking to view generated content opens a blank screen, or articles triggered from Topical Maps fail to generate at all. Both issues are linked to how Topical Maps hands off article jobs to Content Genius. This article explains what is known about these problems and what to have ready so our team can resolve it for you quickly.
⚠️ What Causes These Issues?
These issues are related to how Topical Maps initiates and tracks article generation in Content Genius. When a generation job fails or the handoff between the two tools does not complete correctly, the result can be a blank screen where content should appear, or a silent failure with no article created. The exact cause can vary, which is why our team investigates these on a case-by-case basis.
🛠️ What to Do If You See a Blank Screen or Failure
If your articles failed to generate or are not appearing, this is a bug that requires backend investigation by our team. Before escalating, please collect the following so we can resolve it as quickly as possible:
- Your project name (the workspace or project where the Topical Map is located)
- The exact error message displayed, if any (e.g., any failure notice shown on screen)
- The titles or topics you attempted to generate articles for
- The approximate date and time when the issue occurred
- Steps to reproduce — what you clicked and in what order before the blank screen or failure appeared
