Overview
OTTO's on-page optimization features help you improve title tags, meta keywords, and overall page scores directly from the OTTO SEO dashboard. This article explains what OTTO's on-page optimization covers, how to work with its suggestions, and what to have ready if you need support.
Where to Find OTTO On-Page Optimization
Navigate to Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation) to access OTTO. Once inside, select a connected domain and open the On-Page section to view all pages OTTO has crawled and queued for optimization.
How Title Tag Suggestions Work
OTTO generates title tag suggestions automatically as part of its on-page optimization workflow. After OTTO completes its crawl of your connected domain, it surfaces optimization recommendations — including title tag suggestions — for the pages it has analyzed. You can review these suggestions inside the On-Page section and choose to apply or modify them before deploying.
If you are not seeing suggestions for a particular page, this may indicate that the page has not yet been crawled, that the domain connection needs to be refreshed, or that the page falls outside the current crawl scope. In these cases, contact our support team with the details described at the end of this article.
Meta Keywords: How They Are Deployed
OTTO can generate meta keyword recommendations as part of its on-page optimization pass. Meta keywords are considered a secondary on-page signal — OTTO prioritizes title tags and meta descriptions first. Once you are satisfied with the suggestions, you can deploy them through the On-Page section of the OTTO dashboard.
If you are experiencing issues with meta keywords not deploying correctly, or if the deployment status is not updating as expected, please gather the details listed below before reaching out to support.
Optimization Scoring
Each page OTTO analyzes receives an optimization score reflecting how well the page's on-page elements align with SEO best practices. As you apply OTTO's recommendations — such as updating title tags, meta descriptions, or meta keywords — the score for that page updates to reflect the improvements made.
If a page's score does not update after you have applied changes, or if you believe the score is incorrect, note the page URL, the changes you made, and the score you expected versus what is displayed, then contact support.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Suggestions not appearing: Confirm the domain is connected and that OTTO has completed its crawl. If the crawl appears complete but suggestions are missing, note the affected page URLs and contact support.
- Deployment not completing: If you click deploy and the status does not change, try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, note the page URL, your CMS type, and the exact behavior you observed.
- Score not updating: Note the page URL, the changes applied, and the current versus expected score before contacting support.
