The OTTO Pixel is a lightweight tracking script that connects your website to OTTO SEO automation inside Search Atlas. Once installed in your site's <head> tag, OTTO can read your pages, apply optimizations, and track performance in real time.
🚀 Step 1: Generate Your OTTO Pixel Script
- Log in to Search Atlas and open your OTTO project (or create a new one).
- Navigate to the pixel script section of your project to find your unique script snippet.
- Copy the full script snippet shown on screen. It is a standard JavaScript tag unique to your project.
Keep this script ready — you will paste it into your website in the next step.
🌐 Step 2: Install the Script on Your Website
The OTTO Pixel must be placed inside the <head> tag of every page you want OTTO to manage. Locate your site's global header template file and paste the OTTO Pixel script before the closing </head> tag. Consult your platform's documentation if you are unsure where the header file is located.
🧪 Step 3: Test on Localhost Before Deploying to Production
You can validate the OTTO Pixel on a local development environment before pushing changes live. Set up your local site using your preferred local server tool, then paste the OTTO Pixel script into the <head> tag of your local site's header file using the same method described in Step 2. Load a page of your local site in a browser and confirm the script is present and loading without errors before deploying to your production environment.
