Welcome to Summit! This guide explains how to set up your Circle community account, how it differs from your Search Atlas account, and how to complete your Day 1 press release homework successfully.
👥 What Is a Circle Account?
Circle is the community platform we use to host Summit. It is where you will find the event schedule, daily homework, live session links, discussion threads, and announcements. Think of it as the home base for everything happening during Summit.
Your Circle account is separate from your Search Atlas account. They are two different platforms with two different logins:
- Search Atlas account: Your main SEO platform login, used for tools like OTTO SEO, Site Explorer, and reporting.
- Circle account: Your Summit community login, used only to access event content, homework, and discussions.
Creating a Circle account does not change or affect your Search Atlas account in any way. You will use both during Summit, but they do not share the same username or password unless you choose to set them the same.
⚙️ How to Create Your Circle Account
Follow these steps from the Summit pre-event checklist:
- Open the Circle invitation link provided in your Summit welcome materials.
- Select Create account (or Sign up) on the Circle page.
- Enter your name and the email address you used to register for Summit.
- Create a password and confirm it.
- Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link.
- Log in to Circle and complete your profile so other attendees can connect with you.
Tip: Use the same email address you registered with for Summit. This ensures you are automatically added to the correct community spaces and can see all homework and sessions.
📝 Completing Your Day 1 Press Release Homework
Day 1 homework asks you to create a press release using your Search Atlas account. This task is completed inside the Search Atlas platform, not inside Circle. Follow these steps:
- Log in to your Search Atlas account (not Circle).
- Open the press release or content tool referenced in the Day 1 instructions.
- Select the option to create a new press release.
- Add your title, key details, and any links or quotes you want included.
- Generate the draft, review it, and save or submit it as instructed in the homework.
- Return to Circle to mark the homework as complete or post your result in the discussion thread.
Tip: You can make Knowledge Graph changes on a press release even before it is deployed, so you can refine those details while completing your homework.
🛠️ Troubleshooting the Press Release Homework
If the press release will not generate or save, try the following before reaching out:
- Confirm you are in the right platform. The press release is created in Search Atlas, not Circle.
- Check your plan access. Make sure your Search Atlas account includes the tool used for the homework. If you do not see it, your plan may need access enabled.
- Fill in all required fields. Missing details such as a title or main topic can stop the draft from generating.
- If the draft appears stuck generating, refresh and retry. A platform latency issue that left press releases (and cloud stacks) stuck while generating has been resolved, so reloading the page and trying again usually clears it. A slow connection can also interrupt the process.
- If your selected image or gallery resets after generating, reselect it and regenerate. A known issue that reset the image selection state after content generation on Step 1 has been fixed.
- If your press release is rejected when submitting, regenerate and resubmit. A previous issue that caused press releases to be rejected by publishers without a clear explanation has been resolved.
- Note on logos: Company logos are not always accepted as press release images. If a logo is rejected, use a standard image instead.
- Clear your cache or switch browsers. Try an incognito window or a different browser to rule out a saved-data issue.
- Disable conflicting extensions. Ad blockers or privacy extensions can sometimes block the tool from loading.

Keeping these two accounts straight is the most common fix for Summit homework issues. If you remember that Circle is for the community and Search Atlas is for the tools, most tasks will go smoothly.
