🔄 Why OTTO Schema Doesn't Appear in Your WordPress Plugin

📐 Two Separate Systems

When you deploy schema through OTTO SEO (Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites → [your project card]), the changes are delivered via a JavaScript overlay — a script that injects schema markup directly onto your live page at render time. This allows changes to go live immediately without touching your WordPress database or plugin settings.

Because of this architecture, your WordPress plugin fields will never reflect changes made through OTTO. The two systems operate independently and do not communicate with each other.

⚠️ Why the Plugin Fields Look Empty

  • OTTO overlay: Schema is injected via JavaScript when your page loads. It is live and visible to search engine crawlers.
  • WordPress plugin: Stores schema in your WordPress database. It has no visibility into what OTTO's overlay is serving.

✅ How to Confirm Your Schema Is Live

  1. Run your page through Google's Rich Results Test — OTTO-injected schema will appear there.
  2. Use View Page Source on the live page to see the schema rendered by the overlay.
  3. Check Left sidebar → OTTO SEO → All Sites → [your project card] — a green "Deployed" badge confirms the overlay is active.

📌 Avoid Schema Conflicts

If your WordPress plugin is also configured to output schema for the same page types, you may end up with duplicate or conflicting markup. Disable schema output in your WordPress plugin for any page type OTTO is already managing.
