What Is Site Explorer Search History?
Every time a domain or URL is analyzed using Site Explorer, Search Atlas logs that query in your account's search history. This creates a running record of all sites that have been looked up under your workspace, making it easy to revisit previous research without re-entering domains manually.
You can access your Site Explorer history within the Site Explorer section of your Search Atlas account, where all previously searched domains are listed.
Why Are Unfamiliar Sites Appearing in Your History?
Seeing domains in your Site Explorer history that you don't recognize can be surprising. One common reason is that other team members or users on your account may have performed those searches — if your Search Atlas workspace is shared with colleagues, any domain they search may appear in the shared history.
What You Should Do If You See Unexpected Sites
If you notice domains in your history that you don't recognize, here are some recommended steps:
- Check with other users on your account to see if they recently searched those domains.
- If activity appears truly unauthorized or suspicious, contact your account administrator to review user access and permissions.

Additional Notes
Two distinct types of history: 'Search activity history' (manually searched domains/URLs) vs 'Crawl data for your own sites' (metrics from domains added for ongoing monitoring). Navigation path: Left sidebar → Site Metrics (Site Explorer) (/site-explorer/list). The history panel displays all team searches, not just your own properties.
