🧾 Recurring vs. One-Time Token Top-Ups: What's the Difference?

When you purchase additional tokens at Search Atlas, you can choose between two purchase types:

• One-time top-up: A single, non-renewing credit added to your account. It does not repeat and you will not be charged again unless you manually make another purchase.
• Recurring top-up: A subscription-style purchase that automatically renews on a set date each month. You will be charged again on your renewal date unless you cancel the recurring top-up before it renews.

Important: The purchase flow for both options can look similar at checkout. Always confirm which option is selected before completing your purchase. If you are unsure whether a past purchase was one-time or recurring, do not rely on assumptions — verify directly in your billing dashboard as described below.

🔍 How to Check If a Top-Up Is Recurring

Follow these steps to verify the status of any token top-up on your account:

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Navigate to your Billing section (accessible from the top-right avatar/Account Menu → Billing).
3. Review your active purchases. Any recurring top-up will have an associated renewal date, indicating it will automatically charge again on that date.
4. One-time top-ups will appear in your payment or transaction history without a future renewal date attached.

If you see a renewal date associated with a token top-up, that purchase is recurring and will be charged again on that date. For example, a top-up purchased on August 4th or August 5th with a renewal date of September 4th is a recurring charge — not a one-time credit.

🛒 How to Purchase Tokens as a One-Time Top-Up

To add tokens to your account without setting up a recurring charge, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Go to your Billing section and locate the option to purchase additional tokens.
3. Choose your desired token package from the available options.
4. At checkout, carefully review the purchase type before confirming. Make sure you are selecting a one-time purchase rather than a recurring or monthly option.
5. Complete the purchase. Your tokens will be credited to your account.

After purchasing, check your billing section to confirm that no new recurring charge with a future renewal date has been added. If a renewal date appears unexpectedly, the purchase may have been set up as recurring and you should take steps to cancel it promptly.

❌ How to Cancel a Recurring Top-Up

If you find a recurring token top-up that you did not intend to set up, or that you no longer want, you should cancel it before its next renewal date to avoid being charged again.

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Go to your Billing section and locate the active recurring top-up.
3. Select the option to cancel or disable the recurring charge.
4. Confirm the cancellation. You should no longer see a future renewal date for that top-up.
