When you registered for the Search Atlas AI Summit, your signup included automatic enrollment in a Search Atlas platform trial. This article explains why that happens, where it is disclosed in the payment agreement, and what your options are if you did not intend to start a paid subscription.
🔗 Why AI Summit Signup Triggers Platform Enrollment
The AI Summit is hosted and delivered entirely inside the Search Atlas platform. To give attendees immediate access to the summit content, live sessions, and AI tools demonstrated during the event, Search Atlas automatically provisions a platform account at the point of registration.
This enrollment serves two purposes:
- It grants instant access to all summit sessions, replays, and resources without requiring a separate signup step.
- It begins a free trial of the Search Atlas platform so attendees can explore the full toolset introduced during the summit.
The free trial period starts on your AI Summit registration date. If the trial is not cancelled before it ends, it automatically converts to a paid monthly or annual subscription based on the plan selected or defaulted during checkout.
📄 Where Auto-Enrollment Is Disclosed in the Payment Agreement
Auto-enrollment terms are presented at two points during the AI Summit registration flow:
- Registration checkout page: Directly beneath the order summary, a disclosure states that completing registration activates a free platform trial and that a paid subscription will begin automatically at the end of the trial unless cancelled.
- Confirmation email: The confirmation email sent immediately after registration includes a section titled Your Platform Trial Details, which lists the trial end date, the subscription plan that will activate, the billing amount, and a direct link to cancel before the trial expires.
By completing the AI Summit registration and submitting payment or free-ticket confirmation, customers agree to the Search Atlas Terms of Service and Subscription Billing Policy, both of which are linked on the checkout page and describe the trial-to-paid conversion process in full.
💳 How to Check Whether You Have Been Charged
To confirm whether a paid subscription charge has been applied to your account, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Search Atlas account at app.searchatlas.com.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Billing.
- Under Invoices, review any transactions listed. Charges will display the date, amount, and plan name.
- Under Plans & Top-ups (page 'Billing'), you will see whether you are in a free trial or an active paid subscription, along with when your recurring quotas reset.
If you do not see a charge but are concerned about an upcoming one, under Avatar → Billing → Plans & Top-ups the text reads 'All recurring quotas reset on your next billing date (Oct 21, 2026)', showing when your card will be billed unless you cancel first.
❌ How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel at any time directly from your account:
- Log in and go to Billing from your profile menu.
- Click Manage Subscription.
- Select Cancel Plan and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation.
If you cancel during the free trial period, you will not be charged. Access to the platform continues until the trial or current billing period ends. After cancellation, your account moves to a read-only state and no further charges are applied.
💰 Refund Eligibility
If your trial converted to a paid subscription and you were charged without realising it, you may be eligible for a refund under the following conditions:
- The refund request is submitted within 7 days of the charge date.
- The account has not made significant use of paid features during the billed period.
Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To submit a request, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team, who will review your account and process eligible refunds promptly.
🆚 Free Trial vs. Paid Subscription: Key Differences
- Free trial: Full platform access at no cost for the duration of the trial window. No charge applies if cancelled before the trial end date.
- Paid subscription: Activates automatically when the trial expires. Billed monthly or annually depending on the plan. Includes continued full access plus priority support.
Your trial end date is always visible in the Billing section of your account and was included in your AI Summit registration confirmation email.
