🔍 Overview
Some customers with unlimited or high-site-count contracts encounter an unexpected quota error when trying to add a new OTTO project — even though they are well within their contracted limits. This is caused by the account's site quota not being correctly configured on the back end after the contract is signed. The issue cannot be resolved by the customer directly; it requires the support team to reconfigure the account limit.
This article explains what to do if you hit this error and how to get it resolved as quickly as possible.
⚠️ What This Looks Like
- You try to add a new site or project in the OTTO SEO section and receive a message asking you to purchase more websites.
- The error appears even though your contract explicitly includes a higher or unlimited number of sites.
- Your current site count is clearly below the limit stated in your agreement.
📋 Before You Contact Support
Gathering the following information in advance will help the team resolve your issue faster:
- Your signed contract or order confirmation — have it ready to share, as the support team will need to verify your contracted site limit.
- The name of the site or project you were trying to add — note it down so you can describe it clearly.
- Your current number of active OTTO sites — you can check this by navigating to OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation) and reviewing your existing projects.
🚀 How to Get This Resolved
- Contact the Search Atlas support team. This issue requires a back-end account adjustment that only our internal team can perform. Reach out via the support chat available within the platform to connect with a support agent.
- Share your signed contract when asked. The agent will request your contract or a screenshot of your plan details to verify your entitlement before escalating the fix to the technical team.
- The support team will update your site quota on the back end. Once your entitlement is confirmed, the agent will coordinate the necessary back-end reconfiguration to align your account's quota with your contracted limit and confirm when the fix has been applied.
- Refresh your session after receiving confirmation. After the agent confirms the update is complete, clear your browser cache and cookies or open a new incognito window so your browser loads the updated account state correctly.
- Try adding the project again. Navigate to OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation) and attempt to create the project as you normally would. The quota error should no longer appear.
💡 Why This Happens
When a new contract is activated or an account is upgraded to include a higher site limit, the quota settings sometimes need to be manually applied on the back end. If this step is missed during account setup, the pla
