🔍 Find and Install OTTO Pixel on Squarespace

🧩 What Is the OTTO Pixel?

The OTTO Pixel is a small tracking script that connects your Squarespace website to Search Atlas. Once installed, it allows OTTO to collect on-site data and power AI-driven SEO automation for your site.

There are two parts to this process: finding your unique OTTO Pixel UUID script in Search Atlas, and then adding it to your Squarespace site. Both steps are covered below.

📍 Step 1: Find Your OTTO Pixel UUID Script

Your OTTO Pixel script is unique to your website. Follow these steps to locate it inside Search Atlas:

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
  2. In the left sidebar, click OTTO SEO → SEO Automation (URL: /seo-automation-v3).
  3. Select the website project you want to track.
  4. Look for the OTTO Pixel or Pixel Setup section on the dashboard. This section displays your unique UUID tracking script.
  5. Click Copy to copy the full script to your clipboard. The script will look similar to this: <script src="https://pixel.searchatlas.com/otto.js?uuid=YOUR-UNIQUE-ID"></script>

Important: Your UUID is unique to your account and website. Do not share it publicly or use another site's UUID.

🌐 Step 2: Add the OTTO Pixel to Your Squarespace Site

Squarespace allows you to inject custom code through its built-in Code Injection feature. This is the correct method for adding the OTTO Pixel to a Squarespace website.

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account and open the website where you want to install the pixel.
  2. In the left panel, go to Settings.
  3. Under the Website section, click Advanced.
  4. Click Code Injection.
  5. In the Header field, paste the full OTTO Pixel script you copied from Search Atlas.
  6. Click Save in the top-left corner.

The pixel is now active on every page of your Squarespace site. No additional steps are needed per page.

✅ Step 3: Verify the Pixel Is Working

After saving, confirm the pixel is firing correctly:

  • Return to OTTO SEO → SEO Automation in Search Atlas (/seo-automation-v3).
  • Check the OTTO Pixel status indicator for your website project. It may take a few minutes to reflect an active status after installation.
  • Visit your Squarespace website in a browser and reload the page to trigger the pixel.
  • If the status updates to Active or Connected, your installation is complete.

⚠️ Common Issues and Tips

  • Script not saving: Make sure you are pasting the script into the Header field, not the Footer or Page Header fields, and that you click Save before leaving the page.
  • Status still showing as inactive: Allow up to 10 minutes and then reload the Search Atlas dashboard. Clear your browser cache and revisit your Squarespace site to re-trigger the pixel.
  • Using a Squarespace Developer template: If your site uses a custom Developer Mode template, you may need to add the script directly to the <head> tag in your template files instead of using Code Injection.
  • Do not use WordPress instructions: Code Injection in Squarespace is different from WordPress plugin or theme methods. The steps above are specific to Squarespace only.
