🧠 How Otto Publishes Schema Markup
When Otto applies schema markup to your website, it does not modify your website's backend files, database, or CMS settings. Instead, Otto uses a script-based injection method where structured data is dynamically inserted into each page as it loads in the browser.
This means the schema is live on the internet immediately after Otto applies it, even though no files inside your Go High Level dashboard have changed. Your visitors and search engine crawlers like Googlebot will read the schema correctly when they visit your pages.
🤔 Why Go High Level Dashboard Shows No Changes
This is the most common point of confusion for customers using Otto with Go High Level (GHL). Because Otto's injection method works at the script level — outside of GHL's page editor — the following are all expected and normal:
- Your GHL page editor will not show any new schema code blocks.
- Your GHL funnel or website builder will look identical to before Otto ran.
- No new pages, sections, or custom code entries will appear inside GHL.
This is by design. Otto injects schema without touching your GHL content, which protects your existing page layouts and prevents accidental overrides of your site design.
✅ How to Confirm Otto's Schema Is Live
Even though GHL shows no changes, you can verify the schema is active and correctly deployed using these methods:
- Google's Rich Results Test: Go to search.google.com/test/rich-results, enter your page URL, and run the test. If Otto's schema is live, Google will detect and display the structured data types applied to that page.
- Schema Markup Validator: Visit validator.schema.org, enter your page URL, and review the parsed schema output.
- View Page Source: Open your live page in a browser, right-click, and select View Page Source. Search for
application/ld+json— you will see the schema blocks Otto injected if the script is active.
If none of these methods detect schema on your page, proceed to the troubleshooting section below.
🔍 Troubleshooting: Schema Not Detected on Live Pages
If your schema is not showing up in validation tools, work through the following checks:
- Confirm the Otto script is installed: The Otto tracking and injection script must be present in your GHL site's header. Check your Go High Level site or funnel settings to verify the Otto script tag is included in your header tracking code. If it is missing, return to Search Atlas and reconnect or reinstall the Otto script for your site.
- Check that Otto has been run on the specific page: Schema can be applied either to a specific page or site-wide (domain level). Confirm inside Search Atlas that Otto has been activated for the page or domain you are testing.
