🤖 What Is the OTTO Pixel?

The OTTO Pixel is a lightweight tracking script you install on your website. It allows Search Atlas to continuously monitor your site's SEO health, detect technical issues, and verify that fixes have been applied correctly. Without the OTTO Pixel, rescanning and diagnostics are limited to surface-level checks. With it installed, OTTO can perform deep, real-time analysis directly tied to your live site.

🧭 Where to Find the Scan and Run Diagnostics Feature

The diagnostics and rescan tools are located inside the OTTO SEO section of Search Atlas. Follow these steps to get there:

  1. Open Search Atlas and look at the left sidebar.
  2. Click OTTO SEO, then All Sites (SEO Automation). This takes you to the SEO automation dashboard (/seo-automation-v3).
  3. Locate your website in the list of active sites. You will see options such as Active and Deep Frozen alongside your connected domains.
  4. Click on your site to open its OTTO dashboard.
  5. Inside the site dashboard, find the Scan or Run Diagnostics button. Click it to trigger a fresh crawl and diagnostic check of your site.

Once the scan is complete, OTTO will update your issue list and mark any previously flagged items as resolved if the fixes have been detected.

📦 How to Install the OTTO Pixel on Your Site

If you have not yet installed the OTTO Pixel, follow these steps before running a diagnostic scan:

  1. From the OTTO SEO dashboard, select the site you want to connect.
  2. Look for the OTTO Pixel setup prompt or the pixel installation option within the site settings.
  3. Copy the provided pixel snippet.
  4. Paste the snippet into the <head> section of every page on your website. If you use a CMS such as WordPress, you can add it via your theme's header file or a header injection plugin.
  5. Return to the OTTO SEO dashboard and click Verify Installation to confirm the pixel is live and communicating with Search Atlas.

Tip: The pixel only needs to be installed once. After verification, OTTO will begin collecting data automatically.

🔄 How to Rescan Your Site to Verify SEO Fixes

After making changes to your site — such as adding meta tags, fixing broken links, or resolving crawl errors — you should run a rescan to confirm those changes are registered by Search Atlas.

  1. Go to OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation) in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the site you have made changes to.
  3. Click the Scan or Run Diagnostics button inside the site dashboard.
  4. Wait for the scan to finish. Depending on your site size, this may take a few minutes.
  5. Review the updated diagnostics report. Fixed issues will be marked as resolved, and any remaining or new issues will be clearly listed.

Note: If a fix is not being detected, double-check that the change is live on your published site and not only saved in a draft or staging environment.

📊 Using Site Metrics Alongside Diagnostics

For a broader view of your site's performance after a rescan, you can also review data inside Site Metrics:

  • Go to Site Metrics in the left sidebar (/site-explorer/list).
  • Use the Overview sub-page to check platform connections and AI settings.
  • Visit Pages to review individual page-level performance following your fixes.
  • Use Keywords to monitor ranking changes tied to the SEO improvements you have made.

Together, OTTO SEO diagnostics and Site Metrics give you a complete picture of your site's health before and after making SEO changes.
