If you have added the Search Atlas script to your GoHighLevel (GHL) website but OTTO is not detecting it, the most common cause is a Cloudflare security rule that blocks the Search Atlas crawler before it can verify the script. This article walks you through diagnosing and fixing the issue so OTTO can successfully connect to your site.
⚠️ Common Symptoms
- You added the Search Atlas script to your GHL site but OTTO still shows the site as undetected or not connected.
- The Installation Guide shows the script as missing even though you can see it in your GHL settings.
- You notice two script tags on your site — this is normal GHL behavior and is not a duplicate error.
🧩 Why This Happens
Cloudflare's bot protection can treat the Search Atlas crawler as an unwanted bot and block its requests. When the crawler is blocked, it cannot reach your page to confirm the script is present, so OTTO never registers a successful connection. The fix is to whitelist the Search Atlas crawler in your Cloudflare settings so it can access your site freely.
✅ How to Fix It
- Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard for the domain connected to your GoHighLevel site.
- Navigate to your security or bot management settings. The exact location depends on your Cloudflare plan, but look for sections related to bot protection, firewall rules, or IP access rules.
- Add a whitelist rule that allows the Search Atlas crawler. Create an allow rule for the Search Atlas crawler user agent or IP range. If you are unsure of the exact crawler details, contact our support team using the instructions at the bottom of this article and a teammate will provide them.
- Save your changes and allow a few minutes for the rule to propagate.
- Trigger a new scan in Search Atlas. Return to your Search Atlas account and run a fresh scan on your site so OTTO can attempt to detect the script again.
- Check the installation status. Confirm in your Search Atlas account whether the script is now detected and the site shows as connected.

- Two script tags on your GHL site is expected. GoHighLevel sometimes renders the script tag more than once. This is standard GHL platform behavior and does not indicate a problem with your installation.
- CMS detection may show as "Custom CMS" instead of "GoHighLevel." Our engineering team is actively working on improving GoHighLevel fingerprinting so the CMS is recognised correctly. This does not affect OTTO's ability to optimise your site once the script is connected.
