🗺️ Understanding the Two Workflows
There are two points at which you can work with topical terms in Search Atlas — before generating an article and after generation. These are separate workflows, and it is important to know which one applies to your situation.
- Pre-generation: You select topical terms from your Topical Map before clicking Generate. Those terms shape the article from the start.
- Post-generation: Your article already exists inside the SEO Content Assistant, and you want to add or apply suggested topical terms to enrich it. This article covers that workflow.
📍 Where to Find Your Generated Article
If your article has already been generated, it lives inside the SEO Content Assistant. To open it:
- Click Content in the left sidebar.
- Select Content Genius (What are we writing today?) from the sub-menu.
- Locate your article in the document list and click its title to open the editor.
🔍 Finding Suggested Topical Terms Inside the Editor
Once your article is open in the SEO Content Assistant editor, you will find suggested topical terms associated with your target keyword and topic cluster. Review the available terms to identify which ones are already present in your content and which ones are still missing.
✅ Adding Suggested Topical Terms to Your Article
To add missing suggested terms to your existing article, review the list of suggested topical terms and manually incorporate any that are not yet covered into the relevant sections of your article body. Type or paste each term naturally into your content so that it fits the surrounding context.
💡 Tips for Effective Term Enrichment
- Prioritise terms that are semantically close to your main keyword — these have the greatest impact on topical authority.
- Add terms naturally within context. Forcing a term into an unrelated sentence can harm readability and overall content quality.
- Work through missing terms section by section rather than all at once to keep your edits focused and coherent.
