Overview
A confirmed bug caused OTTO's Brand Vault (formerly Knowledge Graph) to automatically append a trailing slash to homepage URLs inside the Top Pages section. This prevented customers from removing the slash or adding the correct URL format, and caused OTTO to create and auto-optimize duplicate versions of the same page.
This issue has been resolved by the Search Atlas engineering team. If you are still experiencing duplicate homepage URL entries or related optimization issues in your OTTO session, please reach out to our support team so they can review and correct your account directly.
What the Bug Did
- Added a trailing slash to homepage URLs automatically (e.g.,
example.com/instead ofexample.com). - Prevented manual deletion or correction of the affected URL inside Brand Vault.
- Caused OTTO to treat the two URL variants as separate pages and apply optimizations to both, creating duplicates.
Current Status
This bug has been fully resolved in the Search Atlas platform. The fix addresses trailing slashes being incorrectly stripped or appended on homepage URLs in the Top Pages section of Brand Vault, and prevents duplicate URL optimization from occurring going forward.
