💡 Can a promo code refund a yearly plan?
Promo codes generally apply when they are entered during checkout or before a subscription is charged. Redeeming a code after purchasing a yearly plan does not automatically recalculate the completed payment or create a refund.
Refund eligibility depends on the specific promotion, its terms, your plan, and when the code was redeemed. Some offers may not apply to existing annual subscriptions or may be limited to new purchases, upgrades, or renewals.

- Review the promotion’s eligibility rules, discount amount, and expiration date.
- Confirm that the code was entered successfully and that a confirmation or discount appeared.
- Check whether the offer applies to existing yearly plans or only to a new checkout.
- Compare your invoice with the promotion terms to confirm what was charged.
⚙️ Where to redeem a promo code
In Search Atlas, open the account menu from your avatar in the top-right corner, select Billing, then open the Services, Invoices, or Activity Log tab. Select Redeem Promo Code and follow the instructions.
Redeeming a code from these areas does not guarantee a retroactive adjustment to an already-paid yearly invoice.
🔍 How to request a billing review
- Keep your promo code, account details, invoice, purchase date, and the promotion name available.
- Open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform.
- Type human teammate to request a review of your specific subscription and promotion.
The team can confirm whether the offer applies to your annual plan and explain any available adjustment. Do not purchase the same yearly plan again while waiting for a review, as duplicate subscriptions may not qualify for the promotion or refund.
📅 How future charges are handled
If a promotion is valid for renewal, the discount may apply only to a future renewal rather than the current paid term. Your invoice or promotion terms should state when the discount takes effect. A code also cannot extend or restart an expired offer.
