📋 Overview

When you downgrade your Search Atlas subscription — for example, moving from a trial Growth plan to a Starter plan — your Universal Credits (UC) balance and allocation may change. This article explains what to expect after a plan change and how to get support if your credits are not reflecting correctly.

🔄 What Happens to Your Credits When You Downgrade

Downgrading your plan can affect your Universal Credits balance. Depending on your account, credits may be reset or reallocated to reflect the new plan tier. If you notice your Universal Credits balance has changed or disappeared after a downgrade, this is related to how credit allocations are applied when a plan change takes effect.

⚠️ Common Issues After a Plan Change

After a downgrade, some customers experience unexpected credit behaviour. Here are the most common situations:

  • Credits show as zero or lower than expected after downgrading: Your credit balance may have been reset as part of the plan change. If this does not resolve on its own, our team can investigate and restore credits where applicable.
  • Credits purchased separately are not appearing: If you bought additional Universal Credits and they are not reflected in your balance after a downgrade, this may require a manual review by our team.
  • A tool is blocked with a quota-related message: Some features require Universal Credits to be correctly registered in your account quota. If you see a quota or access error after a plan change, our team can resolve it.

✅ What to Do If Your Credits Are Missing

  1. Note your current plan name and the date your downgrade took effect.
  2. Note the exact credit balance you see in your account and any error messages displayed.
  3. Contact our support team with these details so we can investigate and restore your credits where applicable.
