The Otto WordPress plugin injects the tracking pixel by hooking into WordPress's loading sequence. On some sites this can interfere with other plugins or theme scripts, particularly on checkout pages. Common symptoms include:
- Checkout page failing to load or displaying incorrectly
- Page elements breaking or becoming unresponsive after plugin activation
If you activated the Otto pixel plugin and immediately noticed issues on your checkout page, the plugin method is likely conflicting with your existing setup. The fix is to switch to the script-based installation.

- Log in to Search Atlas and locate your unique Otto pixel script from within the platform. Your pixel script will be a short JavaScript snippet associated with your account.
- Return to your WordPress dashboard and deactivate the Otto pixel plugin under Plugins → Installed Plugins. Do not delete it yet — wait until you confirm the script method is working.
- Paste the Otto pixel script into your site's
<head>section. You can do this using your theme's built-in header settings or a script management plugin that allows you to insert code into the page head. - Save your changes and reload your checkout page to confirm the conflict is resolved and the pixel is loading correctly.
