📌 What the Universal CMS Connector means
The Universal CMS Connector is intended for CMS platforms that are not covered by a dedicated Search Atlas plugin. However, it is not guaranteed to work with every CMS. Compatibility depends on the platform’s publishing access, authentication method, API capabilities, and content structure.
References to a “universal” connector describe its intended use case, not a promise of compatibility with all CMS platforms. Some platforms, including certain hosted or closed CMS solutions, may not support the connection or automated publishing workflow.
✅ Before you connect your CMS
- Confirm that your CMS allows third-party integrations or API-based publishing.
- Check whether your account has permission to create or update articles.
- Verify that your CMS supports the authentication method requested during setup.
- Confirm that your website can accept the required article fields, such as title, body, slug, and metadata.
- Test the connection on a draft or staging site before publishing live content.
📝 Create content in Content Genius
- Open Content in the left sidebar.
- Select Content Genius.
- Choose Generate, Write it yourself, or Write with AI in Bulk.
- Review and edit the generated content before sending it to your CMS.
🔗 Connect and publish
If your CMS has a dedicated Search Atlas integration, use that integration instead of the Universal CMS Connector. For other CMS platforms, follow the connector setup instructions and complete a test connection. If the connection succeeds, publish a draft first and verify the result in your CMS.
If setup fails, do not assume the CMS is supported. The failure may indicate that the platform does not expose the required permissions, API access, or publishing features. You can still use Content Genius to create and export content, then add it to your CMS manually.
🛠️ Troubleshoot connection problems
- Recheck the CMS URL and login or API credentials.
- Make sure the connected user has content publishing permissions.
- Disable restrictions that block third-party requests, if your CMS provides those settings.
- Check whether security tools, redirects, or staging protections prevent the connection.
- Try a draft workflow rather than publishing directly.
- Use manual copy and paste or export when the CMS cannot support the connector.
📋 Important note for Duda users
Duda may not support the Universal CMS Connector workflow described in general setup guidance. A successful connection and publishing process is not guaranteed for Duda sites. If the connector does not work, use Content Genius to create the article and add it to Duda through your normal content workflow.
