Overview
Website Studio lets you publish a new page directly to a subpath on your existing WordPress domain without touching your homepage, DNS records, or any other existing pages. This guide explains what to prepare and how to complete the process.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following conditions are met before publishing:
- Your WordPress site is already connected to Search Atlas.
- You have editor or admin-level access to that WordPress installation.
- The subpath you want to use does not already have a page published at that URL — publishing may overwrite existing content at that exact path.
- Your homepage and other existing pages will not be affected as long as you target only the specific subpath.
How to Publish to a WordPress Subpath
To publish a Website Studio page to a subpath on your connected WordPress domain, follow these steps:
- Open Website Studio in Search Atlas and select the page you want to publish.
- Click the Publish option for that page.
- When prompted to choose a destination, select your connected WordPress domain.
- Enter the subpath (slug) where you want the page to appear — for example, /your-page-name.
- Confirm and complete the publish action.
Once published, the page will appear at the subpath URL on your WordPress site. If you do not see your WordPress domain listed as a destination, confirm that your WordPress site is fully connected to Search Atlas before proceeding.
How Subpath Publishing Works
When you publish to a subpath, Search Atlas creates or updates a single page at that URL on your WordPress site. It does not modify your theme, root domain, or any other pages.
- Homepage: Unaffected. Publishing to a subpath does not alter your front page settings in WordPress.
- Existing pages: Safe, unless you deliberately target a slug that is already in use.
Common Issues
- The page published but returns a 404: This may be related to permalink settings on your WordPress site. If the issue persists after a short wait, contact support with the details listed below.
- Your WordPress site does not appear as a destination: Confirm that your WordPress site is fully connected to Search Atlas. If you are unsure how to check this, contact support with your domain name and account details.
What to Have Ready When Escalating
