🔍 What Is This Issue?
Some customers have reported that clicking into a Website Studio project loads the left sidebar but fails to render the main editor. The page may appear blank, white, or frozen — with no content visible beyond the sidebar. In some cases, no network requests fire at all, meaning the editor never fully initialises.
This issue has been identified and investigated by the Search Atlas engineering team. If you are still experiencing this behaviour, the steps below will help you recover access.
🧭 How to Get to Website Studio
Before troubleshooting, confirm you are navigating to the correct location:
- Log in to your Search Atlas account.
- In the left sidebar, click Website Studio.
- Select the project you want to open. The URL should contain /website-studio.
⚙️ Steps to Fix the Editor Not Loading
Work through the steps below in order, testing the editor after each one before moving to the next.
- Hard-refresh the page. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to clear cached assets and force a full reload.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies. Stale cached files are a common cause of the editor failing to initialise. Clear cache for the past 24 hours, then reload the page.
- Try an incognito or private window. Open a new incognito window, log in to Search Atlas, and navigate to your Website Studio project. This rules out browser extensions or local storage conflicts.
- Switch browsers. If the editor still fails to load, try a different browser (for example, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge). This confirms whether the issue is browser-specific.
- Disable browser extensions. Ad blockers, script blockers, or privacy extensions can prevent API calls from firing. Temporarily disable all extensions and reload the editor.
- Check your internet connection. A slow or unstable connection can cause the editor to stall mid-load. Test on a different network if possible.
- Wait a few minutes and try again. If a platform update was recently deployed, a brief delay before retrying can be enough for the environment to stabilise.
📋 If the Issue Persists — What to Have Ready
If the editor still fails to load past the sidebar after completing all steps above, this may require investigation by the Search Atlas engineering team. Before reaching out, please collect the following information so our team can investigate as quickly as possible:
- Project name — the exact name of the Website Studio project that fails to load.
- Browser and version — for example, Chrome 124, Firefox 126, or Edge 123.
- Operating system — for example, Windows 11 or macOS Ventura.
- Exact behaviour observed — describe what you see (e.g. blank white screen past the sidebar, page freezes, no content loads).
- Timestamp — the date and approximate time (including your timezone) when the issue occurred.
- Whether the issue occurs in incognito or a different browser — this helps isolate the cause.
