🔍 Why Your Old Platform Data May Still Appear

When you migrate your website to a new platform — such as moving from Wix to Replit — Search Atlas continues tracking the domain you originally connected. If the JavaScript pixel is not installed on your new Replit site, the platform will either show stale data from your previous setup or stop collecting new data altogether.

To ensure accurate tracking, you must retrieve a fresh pixel snippet from Search Atlas and install it directly in your Replit project's HTML.

📋 Before You Begin

  • You have an active Search Atlas account with OTTO SEO enabled.
  • Your Replit project is set up and your site is live or in development.
  • You have access to your project's main HTML file (typically index.html) inside the Replit editor.
  • Your domain in Search Atlas matches the domain your Replit site is published on.

⚙️ Step 1: Retrieve Your Pixel Snippet from Search Atlas

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
  2. In the left sidebar, click OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation).
  3. Select the project connected to your Replit website.
  4. Navigate to the Pixel Installation or Site Activation section within the OTTO SEO dashboard.
  5. Copy the full JavaScript pixel snippet displayed on screen. It will look similar to:
    <script src="https://cdn.searchatlas.com/pixel/otto.js" data-otto-uuid="YOUR\_UNIQUE\_ID">``</script>

Important: Do not reuse a pixel snippet from your old Wix site. Each platform installation should use the snippet retrieved directly from your current OTTO SEO project to ensure the correct UUID is active.

🚀 Step 2: Add the Pixel to Your Replit Project

  1. Open your Replit project in the Replit editor.
  2. In the file tree on the left, locate and open your main HTML file — usually named index.html.
  3. Paste the pixel snippet you copied from Search Atlas just before the closing </head> tag on every page you want to track. Placing it in the <head> section ensures the pixel loads as early as possible.
  4. If your Replit project uses a shared layout or template file that wraps all pages (common in frameworks like Express with EJS, or similar), paste the snippet in that shared layout file instead — this way it loads site-wide automatically.
  5. Save the file.

✅ Step 3: Verify the Pixel Is Firing Correctly

  1. Click Run in Replit to launch your site.
  2. Open your live site URL in a browser.
  3. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect (or press F12) to open DevTools.
  4. Go to the Network tab and filter by the keyword otto or searchatlas.
  5. Reload the page. You should see a successful network request to the Search Atlas pixel endpoint with a 200 status code.
  6. Return to your Search Atlas OTTO SEO dashboard. Within a few minutes, the pixel status should update to Installed.

If the pixel status does not update within 10–15 minutes, double-check that your snippet is placed correctly inside the <head> tags and that your Replit site is publicly accessible (not set to private).

💡 Common Issues and Fixes

  • Old Wix data still showing: This is expected immediately after migration. Once the new pixel is active on Replit, Search Atlas will begin collecting fresh data. Historical Wix data will remain visible but new sessions will reflect your Replit site.
  • Pixel not detected: Confirm your Replit project is deployed to a public URL, not just running locally. Search Atlas needs to reach the live domain to validate the pixel.
  • Multiple pages not tracked: If your Replit project has multiple HTML pages, ensure the snippet is added to each page's <head>, or use a shared layout/template to inject it globally.
  • Wrong domain connected: Verify that the domain listed in your Search Atlas OTTO SEO project exactly matches the published Replit domain (including or excluding www).
