When you activate OTTO SEO for a website, Search Atlas generates a pixel plugin that your developer needs to install on your site. The platform includes an Email my developer button, but this button launches your device's default mail client (such as Outlook). If your team does not use that mail client, the button will not work as expected.

This article explains how to copy and share the installation details manually so your developer receives everything they need regardless of the email tool you use.

📍 Where to Find the OTTO Plugin Details

All the information your developer needs is available directly inside the OTTO SEO setup screen. To get there:

1. Log in to Search Atlas and select your workspace.
2. From the Home page, locate the website you want to connect.
3. In the per-project actions menu, click the Create OTTO Project button, or open an existing OTTO session.
4. Follow the on-screen steps until you reach the Install the OTTO Pixel section.
5. You will see the plugin package download link, your unique Site Key, and step-by-step installation instructions.

📋 How to Share the Details Without Outlook

Once you are on the install screen, use any of the following methods to send the information to your developer:

• Copy the Site Key manually: Click the copy icon next to your Site Key, then paste it into any messaging tool — Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, a project management ticket, or any other platform your team uses.
• Download the plugin file: Click the download button to save the plugin package to your computer, then attach it to an email composed in Gmail, Apple Mail, or any webmail service, or share it via Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar file-sharing tool.
• Screenshot the instructions: Take a screenshot or screen recording of the full install section and share it with your developer so they can follow every step exactly as shown in the platform.
• Share your screen: If you are working with a developer in real time, screen-sharing via Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams is a quick way to walk through the steps together.

📦 What to Include When You Share

Make sure your developer has all of the following before they begin:

• The OTTO pixel plugin file (.zip download).
• Your unique Site Key — this links the plugin to your specific OTTO session.
• The installation steps from the platform (upload the plugin to WordPress, activate it, and enter the Site Key in the plugin settings).
• Access to the WordPress admin panel for the target website (your developer will need this independently).

✅ Confirming a Successful Installation

After your developer installs and activates the plugin and enters the Site Key, return to the OTTO SEO screen in Search Atlas. The connection status will update automatically once the pixel is detected on your site. If the status does not update within a few minutes, ask your developer to confirm the Site Key was entered exactly as copied — no extra spaces or characters.

💡 Tips to Avoid Common Issues

• The Site Key is unique to each website — do not reuse a key from a different domain.
• The plugin must be both installed and activated in WordPress for the connection to register.
• If your site uses a security or firewall plugin, ask your developer to whitelist the OTTO pixel script to prevent it from being blocked.
