🔍 Overview

When using Website Studio's AI to create a Privacy Policy page, you may notice the AI confirms the page was created and provides a URL — but the page never actually becomes accessible. This is a known bug that has been resolved. This article explains what happened, how to confirm your fix, and the steps to get a working Privacy Policy page with a real, accessible URL for A2P 10DLC compliance or any other requirement.

⚠️ What Was Causing This Issue

Two underlying bugs were responsible for this problem:

  • Fake URL generation: The AI assistant would report that a Privacy Policy page had been successfully created and assign it a URL — but the page was never actually deployed to your site. The URL led nowhere.
  • Page deletion after creation: For sites built on single-page HTML uploads, the system incorrectly treated the site as a Single Page Application (SPA). A manifest validation process then deleted every page after the first, meaning any new page — including your Privacy Policy — was automatically removed before it could go live.

Both of these bugs have been fixed by the Search Atlas engineering team. If you are still experiencing this issue, follow the steps below to create a working Privacy Policy page.

✅ How to Create a Working Privacy Policy Page

  1. From the left sidebar, navigate to Website Studio (/website-studio).
  2. Open the site where you need the Privacy Policy page.
  3. Use the AI assistant or the page editor to create a new page and title it Privacy Policy.
  4. Add your Privacy Policy content. If you need a starting template, ask the AI assistant to generate one for you.
  5. Publish the page using the Publish button. Do not rely solely on the AI confirmation message — always verify the page is live by clicking the URL directly.
  6. Once published, copy the live URL (for example: yourdomain.com/privacy-policy) and confirm the page loads in your browser.
  7. Use this verified URL for any A2P 10DLC registration, compliance forms, or external references.

🔎 How to Confirm Your Privacy Policy Page Is Live

After publishing, take these steps to verify the page is truly accessible:

  • Open the URL in a private or incognito browser window to rule out cached results.
  • Check that the page content is visible and correctly formatted.
  • If you are using a custom domain, confirm the domain has an active SSL certificate. Note that SSL provisioning can take up to 72 hours after a custom domain is connected.
  • If the URL returns a 404 error or a blank page, the page did not deploy correctly — proceed to the troubleshooting steps below.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Steps If the Page Still Does Not Appear

  1. Delete the existing Privacy Policy page from your Website Studio page list if one was previously created by the AI.
  2. Create a fresh page from scratch rather than editing the failed one.
  3. After saving your content, click Publish and wait 60 seconds before testing the URL.
  4. If your site uses a custom domain, temporarily test the page using the default Website Studio subdomain to rule out a domain or SSL issue.
  5. Clear your browser cache and test the URL again in a private window.

📋 Notes for A2P 10DLC Compliance

If you need a Privacy Policy URL specifically for A2P 10DLC SMS registration, keep the following in mind:

  • The URL must be publicly accessible — no login or password required to view it.
  • The page must load without errors and display your full Privacy Policy text.
  • Only use the URL after you have personally verified it loads correctly in a browser. Do not submit the URL provided by the AI assistant without testing it first.
  • If your domain does not yet have SSL active, wait until the certificate is provisioned before submitting the URL to any compliance registry.
