📋 Overview
When building reports in Search Atlas, text widgets in different sections — such as Google Analytics (GA) and Google Business Profile (GBP) — can appear at different sizes. This article explains how to customize text widget sizing so your report looks consistent and professional throughout.
🗺️ Getting to the Report Builder
- Log in to your Search Atlas account.
- In the left sidebar, click Reports.
- Open an existing report or create a new one from the Report Builder page.
- Click into the report you want to edit to open the report builder canvas.
🔠 Understanding Text Widget Sizing
Text widgets are independent elements placed on the report canvas. Each section of your report — including GA and GBP sections — holds its own set of widgets. Because widgets are not globally linked, a text widget in the GA section and one in the GBP section must each be configured individually to match in size.
There is no single global setting that controls all text widgets at once, but you can achieve a consistent look by following the steps below for each widget.
✏️ Resizing a Text Widget
- Click on the text widget you want to resize on the report canvas. A selection border will appear around it.
- Drag any corner or edge handle to resize the widget to your preferred dimensions.
- To match a widget in another section, note the approximate width and height of the correctly sized widget first, then resize the second widget to match.
- Click outside the widget to deselect and confirm the new size.
🔤 Adjusting Text Font Size Inside a Widget
- Double-click the text widget to enter edit mode.
- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Use the font size selector in the text toolbar that appears at the top of the widget to set your preferred size.
- Apply the same font size to the corresponding text widget in the other report section (for example, match your GA section heading font size to your GBP section heading font size).
- Click outside the widget to save your changes.
📐 Tips for Keeping Widgets Consistent
- Use the same font size for equivalent headings across all sections — for example, set all section titles to the same point size.
- Resize widget containers to the same width by dragging them to a consistent column width across sections.
- Work top to bottom — configure your GA section widgets first, then replicate the same sizes when building or editing your GBP section widgets.
- Preview your report after resizing to check how it renders for your client or end user.
💾 Saving Your Changes
Changes to widgets are saved automatically as you work. Once you are satisfied with the layout, click the Save or Publish button (depending on your report status) to finalize the report for sharing.
