🔍 Overview
When you import a multi-page website into Website Studio, the header navigation — including dropdown menus like Services — can sometimes stop working after the migration is complete. Links may appear in the menu but fail to open, or the dropdown may not respond to clicks at all. This article explains why this happens and what to do about it.
⚠️ Why This Happens
During a website import into Website Studio, navigation elements such as header dropdowns may not be fully restored as part of the migration process. This is a known behaviour tied to how navigation structure is rebuilt during import.
🛠️ What to Do If Your Navigation Dropdowns Are Broken
Because broken header navigation dropdowns after a site import require investigation on the backend, there are no self-serve steps that reliably resolve this issue. To get this fixed as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready before reaching out:
- The name of the project affected in Website Studio
- The URL of the imported site or the source it was migrated from
- A description of which dropdown menu items are broken (for example, which menu label and which sub-pages are affected)
- Any error messages or unexpected behaviours you observed during or after the import
- The approximate date and time the import was completed
A member of our team will investigate the navigation issue and restore the affected dropdowns on your behalf.
