This article explains how Search Atlas handles your AI chat access and conversation history when you move from a free trial to a paid plan. It also covers how to connect OTTO to your website and an important compatibility note for GoDaddy Website Builder users.
🤖 Installing OTTO on Your Website
OTTO is Search Atlas's AI-powered SEO automation tool. To connect OTTO to your site, log in to your Search Atlas account and follow the on-screen steps to add and connect your website.
If your site does not appear to connect after completing these steps, confirm that your hosting provider allows the level of site access that OTTO requires — some managed or website-builder platforms restrict this access.
⚠️ GoDaddy Website Builder Compatibility
If your site is built with GoDaddy Website Builder, OTTO cannot be installed directly. GoDaddy Website Builder does not support the type of site-level access that OTTO requires to function.
Here are your options if you use GoDaddy Website Builder:
- Switch to a WordPress-based environment: WordPress allows full code-level access, which means OTTO can be installed. Migrating to a WordPress environment would require rebuilding or migrating your site content. Once on a compatible WordPress setup, you can complete the OTTO connection steps above.
- Use a different hosting provider: Any hosting provider that allows the site-level access OTTO requires will be compatible. Once your site is on a compatible platform, follow the OTTO installation steps above.
- Use Search Atlas without on-site OTTO automation: You can still use other Search Atlas tools without installing OTTO on your site. OTTO on-site automation is optional; the rest of the platform remains fully functional.
💬 AI Chat Access During Your 7-Day Trial
During your free trial, you have full access to the Search Atlas AI chat. You can ask questions, get SEO recommendations, and explore the platform without any restrictions on the chat feature.
🔑 What Happens to Chat Access After Your Trial Ends
When your 7-day free trial ends, your access to the AI chat depends on whether you upgrade to a paid plan:
- If you upgrade to a paid plan: Your AI chat access continues without interruption. You retain full access to the chat feature on your paid plan.
- If you do not upgrade: Your trial account will expire and access to the AI chat — along with all other platform features — will be suspended until you reactivate your account by upgrading to a paid plan. To reactivate, log in to your Search Atlas account and follow the prompts to select and purchase a paid plan. Once payment is confirmed, your access will be restored.
