📊 Automation Quota in the Social Tool

The Social tool uses an automation quota to control how many active automated schedules can be enabled at the same time.

This quota is capacity-based, not monthly, which means it does not reset on a billing cycle. Instead, it determines how many active automation slots your account can use at any given moment.

A critical detail is that Social Media schedules and GBP automated locations share the same automation pool. That means usage from one product affects the other.

🔍 What the Automation Quota Controls

The automation quota governs how many active automated schedules your account can have enabled simultaneously.

This includes:

  • Social Media automated schedules
  • Google Business Profile automated locations

For example, if your account has:

  • 8 active GBP automations
  • 1 active Social Media schedule

Then your account is using:

  • 9 total automation slots

📌 How This Quota Works

The automation quota is:

  • shared across Social and GBP
  • non-expiring
  • based on active capacity, not monthly usage

This means the limit is tied to how many automations are currently enabled, not how many times you have used automation in the past.

Plan downgrade behavior: If your plan is downgraded and your number of active automations exceeds the new lower limit, existing automations are not automatically removed. You will need to manually disable enough Social or GBP automations to bring your active count within the new plan limit before you can enable new ones.

⚠️ Error You May See

If your account has reached its automation limit, you may see this message:

"You have hit the limit of [X] accounts with automated posting enabled. Please contact our support to upgrade your plan."

This means your account does not currently have enough available automation capacity to enable another schedule.

Note: If you believe your account should have available automation slots but you are still seeing this error, the displayed limit may be out of sync with your plan. Contact support and ask them to verify and resync your automation quota on the backend.

🛠️ What to Check If You Hit the Automation Limit

If you receive an automation quota error, review the following:

Where to view your usage: You can review your current automation usage versus your plan's maximum from the Social Tool settings / account plan page, which shows total allowed slots versus slots currently in use.

Step 1

Check how many Social projects currently have automation enabled.

Step 2

Check whether Google Business Profile automations are also active on the same account.

Step 3

Disable unused Social or GBP automations if you no longer need them.

Step 4

If you still need additional automation capacity, contact support to review your plan.

Upgrading your plan: Upgrading to a higher plan tier is intended to increase your automation quota. If the new limit is not reflected in your account after upgrading, contact support so they can confirm the change has been applied and resync the quota if needed.

🔄 How Automation Usage Is Tracked

Automation usage is tracked automatically and synced to keep the count aligned with your account's active schedules.

The system counts:

  • active Social Media schedules
  • active GBP automated locations

If usage becomes misaligned, the quota system can be corrected through a sync process.

📊 How AI Usage Is Consumed

The following actions consume AI quota:

  • Generate post content → 1 unit
  • Regenerate post content → 1 unit
  • Generate caption → 1 unit
  • Generate project summary → 1 unit
  • Generate AI image → 1 unit per image
  • Manual schedule execution → based on max posts per batch

This means repeated AI actions across captions, summaries, and image generation can use quota quickly, especially in high-volume workflows.

⚠️ What Happens When AI Quota Is Exhausted

If your account has used all available AI content quota for the current billing period, AI-powered actions may stop working.

This can affect actions such as:

  • creating AI captions
  • regenerating content
  • generating AI images
  • generating summaries for projects

🛠️ What To Do If AI Generation Stops Working

Step 1

Check whether your team has recently generated a high volume of AI captions, posts, or images.

Step 2

Check whether multiple users on the same account are using AI generation inside Social.

Step 3

Wait for the quota to reset on the next billing cycle if you do not need immediate additional usage.

Step 4

If additional AI usage is needed sooner, contact support to review available top-up options.

⚠️ Known Issues Related to Automation Quota

🚨 Shared quota visibility between Social and GBP

There is a known issue where GBP usage can consume Social automation capacity without a clear breakdown showing which product is using the slots.

This means you may see an automation quota error in Social even if your Social usage appears low.

🚨 Automation counter may appear higher than expected

There is also a known issue where the automation counter may overcount usage in some cases, such as showing a number higher than the expected active project count.

🚨 Twitter/X posts may fail to publish

Some posts may fail with rate limit-related behavior, such as too many requests.

🚨 X/Twitter integration may show repeated failure messages

Some users may see repeated "Something went wrong" notifications when integrating or publishing to X.

🚨 Multiple Social bugs are still blocked pending API changes

There is a blocked issue affecting multiple areas, including:

  • drafts auto-scheduling
  • AI image not saving
  • search filter behavior

These are known issues and may not be caused by account quota.

🚨 GBP automation failures may be caused by Google API rate limiting

GBP automation failures may occasionally be caused by Google API rate limiting rather than your account quota. If your GBP automations are failing but your slot count appears to be within limit, contact support to investigate potential API throttling.

🧩 Troubleshooting Automation Quota Issues

If automation is not working as expected, try the following:

If you cannot enable auto-posting

  • Review active Social automations
  • Review active GBP automations
  • Disable unused automations
  • Contact support if your visible usage does not match the limit

If the quota count looks incorrect

  • Review whether old or inactive automations may still appear active
  • Contact support so the account's automation count can be reviewed

If you see a quota limit of 0

This usually means your plan does not currently have automation capacity enabled and your plan settings need to be reviewed.

🧩 Troubleshooting AI Generation Issues

If AI content generation is not working, use the following checklist:

If captions are not generating

  • check whether AI quota may be exhausted
  • retry later if your billing cycle reset is near
  • contact support if the issue persists after confirming quota is available
