🧭 Overview
Content Genius helps you generate SEO-optimized titles and meta descriptions at scale. If you manage a large product catalog — such as 65+ Axis products — this article walks you through the recommended bulk workflow, plan requirements, known limitations, and how to filter your work by product line.
📋 Before You Start: Plan Requirements
Bulk optimization features in Content Genius are available on Pro and Enterprise plans. Specifically:
- CSV bulk upload — available on Pro and above. Free and Starter plans require you to process URLs one at a time.
- Focus Terms and keyword cluster assignments — available on all paid plans.
- Shopify structured data integration — available on Pro and above (see section below).
If you are unsure which plan you are on, open the top-right avatar menu and go to Billing (page title: "Billing").
🔍 Step 1: Filter Your Site to Show Only Axis Products
Before generating content, narrow your working set to just the Axis product URLs so you are not processing unrelated pages.
- Go to Left sidebar → Content → On-Page Audit.
- In the URL filter or search bar, enter a common URL path segment shared by your Axis products (for example,
/axis/or a brand-specific subfolder). - Export the filtered list as a CSV using the Export button in the top-right corner of the table.
- Review the exported CSV and remove any rows that do not belong to Axis products before proceeding.
This filtered CSV becomes your source file for the bulk upload in the next step.
📤 Step 2: Bulk Upload URLs via CSV
- Navigate to Left sidebar → Content → Meta Generator.
- Select the Bulk Upload option (Pro and Enterprise plans only).
- Upload your filtered Axis product CSV. The file must include at minimum a URL column. Optional columns include existing title, existing meta description, and target keyword — adding these improves generation quality.
- Map the CSV columns to the correct fields when prompted.
- Click Start Bulk Generation to queue all URLs.
Large batches of 50+ URLs are processed in a queue. You will receive an in-platform notification when your batch is complete. Processing time varies based on catalog size but typically takes 5–15 minutes for 65 URLs.
🎯 Step 3: Assign Focus Terms and Keyword Clusters
Content Genius uses Focus Terms to guide title and meta description generation. For product pages, assigning the right keyword cluster dramatically improves relevance.
- After uploading your CSV, you will be prompted to assign a Focus Term to each URL, or apply a single Focus Term to the entire batch if all Axis products share a primary keyword theme.
- To research the best Focus Terms for Axis products, use Left sidebar → Content → Content Planner to identify high-value keyword clusters relevant to your product line.
- Copy the top cluster keywords and paste them as Focus Terms during the bulk setup step.
- The stronger and more specific your Focus Terms, the more targeted your generated titles and meta descriptions will be.
✏️ Step 4: Review and Publish Generated Titles and Meta Descriptions
Once the bulk job is complete:
- Open your results in Meta Generator. Each URL will display an AI-generated title and meta description alongside its current values.
- Use the inline editor to make quick adjustments to any output before finalizing.
- Check that titles are within 50–60 characters and meta descriptions within 120–160 characters — the interface flags anything outside these ranges.
- Export the final results as a CSV using the Export Results button for implementation in your CMS or Shopify store.
🛑 Limitations: What Content Genius Does NOT Generate
It is important to understand what falls outside Content Genius's current scope so you can plan accordingly:
- Product descriptions (body copy) — Content Genius does not write long-form product descriptions. Use Left sidebar → Content → AI Content Templates for body copy generation.
- Schema markup / structured data code — Content Genius does not output JSON-LD or schema code directly. See the Shopify note below for a workaround.
- Image alt text — Alt text generation is not currently part of the Meta Generator workflow and must be handled manually or via a separate tool.
- Category page content — The bulk workflow is optimized for individual product URLs. Category-level optimization should be handled separately through On-Page Audit.
🛒 Shopify Structured Data Integration
If your Axis products are hosted on Shopify (Pro and Enterprise plans):
- Search Atlas can connect directly to your Shopify store via the Integrations settings, allowing you to push optimized titles and meta descriptions back to Shopify without manually editing each product.
- Structured data (Product schema) is managed through Shopify's own theme settings or a dedicated schema app — Content Genius does not write or inject schema code, but the optimized titles and descriptions it generates will populate the relevant fields once pushed to Shopify.
- After connecting your store, use the Sync to Shopify option inside Meta Generator results to apply approved changes in bulk.
⚡ Tips for Large Product Batches (50+ Items)
- Break batches into groups of 50–75 URLs if you want faster review cycles and more control over Focus Term assignments per sub-category.
- Add a target keyword column to your CSV before uploading — this single step produces noticeably more specific output than leaving it blank.
- Use Left sidebar → Content → Topical Maps to understand the full keyword landscape around Axis products before assigning Focus Terms, especially if the brand spans multiple product categories.
- Save your approved outputs to a master CSV after each batch so you maintain a clean record of all optimized metadata before pushing changes live.
