π Overview
Publisher payments are sent to the PayPal email address saved on your account. If you have opened a new PayPal account, changed your PayPal login, or want payments to go to a different business or agency account, you will need to update this address so your payouts reach the right place.
This article explains what to check before making the change, how to update your PayPal email, and what to do if the option is locked or the change will not save.
β Before You Start
Having the following ready will make the update faster and help avoid payment delays:
- Your Search Atlas account login: Make sure you are signed in to the account that receives publisher payments.
- Your new PayPal email: It must be the exact email address linked to an active PayPal account.
- A confirmed PayPal account: Log in to PayPal and confirm the new email is verified and able to receive payments.
- Your previous PayPal email: This helps our team locate the correct payout record if you need assistance.
- Any pending payments: Note whether you have payments in progress, since these may still go to the address that was on file when they were processed.
π οΈ How to Update Your PayPal Email Yourself
- Sign in to your Search Atlas account.
- Open your publisher payment or payout settings.
- Find the PayPal email field.
- Replace the existing address with your new PayPal email. Check carefully for typos, extra spaces, or the wrong domain.
- Save your changes.
- Confirm the new address appears in your settings after saving. If you see an error or the old address is still displayed, refresh the page and try again.
β οΈ If You Cannot Change the PayPal Email
Some accounts cannot edit the PayPal email directly. This is often a security measure to protect payout details, or it may happen when the existing address is tied to a payment in progress. If the field is locked, will not save, or keeps reverting to the old address, do the following:
- Try a different browser or an incognito window, and clear your cache.
- Check that the new email is entered in a valid format.
- If it still will not save, request the change through our support team using the steps in the section below.
π¬ What to Include When Requesting a Change
To help our team process your request quickly, include the following in your chat:
- That you want to update the PayPal email on your publisher payment profile.
- Your old PayPal email as it appears on your account.
- Your new PayPal email, typed carefully.
- A short note on what happened when you tried to change it yourself, such as an error message or the field not saving.
For security, our team may ask you to confirm details about your account before changing where payments are sent. This protects your earnings from unauthorized changes.
π Tips to Avoid Payment Issues
- Use a PayPal account you own and have full access to.
- Make sure the new PayPal account can receive payments in your country and currency.
- Double-check spelling before saving or submitting the new address.
- Update your PayPal email before your next payout cycle whenever possible.
- If you previously used a different PayPal address, do not close that account until all pending payments have been delivered.
