Found a price you want to change on one of your Publication Media sites? You submit a counteroffer from the Publication Media dashboard, not from the Search Atlas customer dashboard. This article explains how, what happens next, and how to avoid delays.
π What Is a Counteroffer?
A counteroffer is a new price you propose for your own publication, instead of the price currently listed. Search Atlas reviews your proposal and decides whether to accept it. Submitting a counteroffer does not guarantee acceptance.
β Before You Start
- Make sure you are logged in to your Publication Media publisher account.
- Have the site you want to target ready.
- Decide on the maximum price you are comfortable paying.
- You do not need an account balance or a payment method to submit a counteroffer. The offer is only a proposed listing price.
π οΈ How to Submit a Counteroffer
- Log in to the Publication Media dashboard and open Publications.
- Search or browse for the site you want to publish on.
- Find the site in your Publications list. Its current price is shown on the card.
- Select the option labeled Counter Offer. On an existing site, edit the publication and use the Counter Offer field. Or, in the Counter Offer section, click Decline on that site and use Make offer.
- Enter the price you want to offer.
- Enter the price, then save the publication or click Make offer. For several sites, use Bulk Counter Offer, enter each price, and click Submit Offers. The offer must be greater than 0.
Use the labels Counter Offer, Decline, Make offer, and Submit Offers. They do not change based on your plan.
β³ What Happens After You Submit
- Your offer is sent to Search Atlas for review, and you receive an email saying your offer is under review.
- Search Atlas can accept your price or decline it. If you were sent a price, you can click Accept Offer to take it, or click Decline and submit a different price with Make offer.
- Incoming offers waiting for you appear in the Counter Offer section. After you submit your own offer, you can see the amount in the Counter Offer field when you edit that publication. You are emailed when an offer is accepted.
- Once your offer is accepted, that price becomes the listed price for the publication. Future orders use it. It does not change orders already placed.
Review is handled by Search Atlas, so allow some time. Eligible offers can also be accepted automatically. You are emailed when yours is accepted.
π‘ Tips to Improve Your Chances
- Keep an increase within the site's price cap. An offer above 2.5 times the site's Domain Authority is rejected, and you are asked to lower it and try again. An increase can also be blocked for 30 days after a previous increase, while a payout is still open, or while an article is assigned and not yet posted. Lowering the price is allowed.
- You can submit a new offer for the same site. The new amount replaces the one still waiting for review, so send the price you actually want."}
- Choose sites that fit your niche so your content is a good match for the publication.
- If an offer is declined, try a slightly higher price or look at similar sites.
β Common Questions
Can the support team accept my counteroffer for me? No. Acceptance is decided by the publication, and our team cannot approve an offer on its behalf. The best way to get a response is to submit your offer through the dashboard and check its status there.
I submitted an offer, but I don't see a response. What should I do? Check the status in your dashboard first. If it still shows as pending, the publication has not responded yet. Please allow some time for review.
Can I change my offer after submitting it? If the platform lets you edit or withdraw a pending offer, you will see that option on the listing. If not, wait for the publication's response, then submit a new offer if needed.
My offer was declined. Can I try again? Yes. You can submit a new offer with a different price, or choose another site that fits your budget.
π§ Troubleshooting
- Can't find the counteroffer option: Not every listing may allow price negotiation. Check whether the option appears on other listings.
- Offer won't submit: Refresh the page, confirm you entered a valid number, and try again.
- Status looks wrong: Log out and back in to refresh your dashboard.
