If your PayPal account has been blocked, closed, or replaced, you will need to update the PayPal ID on your Publication Media account so your earnings go to the right place. This article explains how to request the change, what to know about payout timing, and what to do if you cannot update the details yourself.
Your PayPal Email is the email address linked to your PayPal account. Payouts are sent to this email, so enter the address for the PayPal account where you want to receive them.
✅ Before You Start
Check these items first so the update goes smoothly:
- Use a PayPal account that can receive payments. Publication Media does not verify the account for you.
- Make sure you have the exact email address linked to the new PayPal account, with no typos.
- Use the PayPal account that belongs to you (the account holder). Payouts sent to a different person's account may be hard to recover.
- If your old PayPal account is blocked, resolve that with PayPal separately. Search Atlas cannot unblock or restore PayPal accounts.
🛠️ How to Update Your PayPal ID
- Log in to your Publication Media account.
- Open the profile menu and choose Account Settings. This opens the Account Setting window.
- Find the PayPal Email field.
- Replace the old PayPal email with the new one.
- Click Apply Changes. When the update succeeds, you will see "Profile updated successfully!" and the new PayPal Email will be shown in the field.
The PayPal Email field stays editable. If you have already changed it twice in the past 365 days, the next change is rejected until that period has passed. Contact our team through live chat if you need help.
⏳ Payout Timing: What to Expect
Many customers ask whether they can update their PayPal ID before their payout period is complete. In general:
- Updating your PayPal Email changes the address stored on your account. A payout that has already been created keeps the PayPal email saved on that payout unless our team updates it, so contact us if an unpaid payout still shows the old address.
- Payouts are issued during the first week of each month for earnings cleared in the previous month. If a payout has not been created yet, updating your PayPal Email now puts the new address on file for that payout.
- Each payout is sent to the PayPal email stored on that payout. That address is copied from your account when the payout is created. If you change your PayPal Email after an unpaid payout already exists, contact our team so the payout can be updated before it is sent.
- After a payout is sent, the time it takes to appear in your PayPal balance depends on PayPal. Publication Media does not guarantee a specific number of business days.
