πŸ’‘ What Does "Pending" Mean?

A payout that has not been sent is unpaid, not a separate Pending stage. Your earnings are recorded on an unpaid payout until our team sends it through PayPal. After it is sent, PayPal may still show it as pending until the transfer is confirmed. Unpaid does not mean something is wrong.

A payout usually moves through these stages:

  1. Earned: The article is posted, its live URL is validated as a follow link, and the publication cost is greater than zero. That amount is then recorded on your unpaid payout. Completing the work alone does not create the payout.
  2. Unpaid: The payout is waiting for our team to send it through PayPal. New validated earnings are added to the same unpaid payout for 7 days.
  3. Sent to PayPal: Our team has sent the payment. PayPal may still show it as pending, unclaimed, or on hold before it is confirmed. The payout stays unpaid until PayPal confirms it.
  4. Paid: PayPal has confirmed the payment, or it was recorded as paid. Your PayPal transaction ID is stored on the payout. It may still take a little time for the funds to appear in your PayPal account.

πŸ“¦ How Batch Timing Works

Earnings are not paid one article at a time. Validated articles are added to one unpaid payout, which is reused for 7 days, and our team sends that payout through PayPal.

This means that:

  • Your payout is sent when our team pays it through PayPal. It is not sent at the moment the article becomes eligible.
  • If you already have an unpaid payout from the last 7 days, the new earning is added to it. Otherwise a new unpaid payout is created. It is still paid only when our team sends it.
  • Your payout stays unpaid until our team sends it and PayPal confirms it. It can also be held if your site is not verified.

⏳ Why Your Payment May Seem Late

The Remittances tab says payment is scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday, end of the day. That note is not a guaranteed delivery date, and payment is still sent by our team through PayPal. Several things can make it arrive later than you expected:

  • Seven-day payout: New validated earnings are added to your open unpaid payout from the last 7 days. They are not moved to a separate next batch.
  • Where the clock starts: The payout is recorded when the posted article is validated and added to your unpaid payout, not when the work was first completed and not from a separate approval or batch date.
  • Review checks: Some payouts need an extra review before they are released.
  • Missing PayPal email: If your account has no PayPal email, the payout cannot be sent until you add one in Account Settings. An email that is blocked cannot be paid.
  • Weekends and holidays: Payment is not sent by an automatic batch. After our team sends it, PayPal or your bank may take longer on non-business days.
  • Provider and bank delays: After a payment is sent, your payment provider or bank may need extra time before the funds appear.

βœ… What You Can Check Yourself

Before reaching out, these quick checks can often explain the delay or resolve it:

  1. Open the Remittances tab to see paid payouts, including the amount, PayPal email, and transaction ID. On your publication overview, Pending is the amount not yet paid and Received is the amount already paid.
  2. On the Remittances tab, check the paid date and the PayPal transaction ID. Compare that paid date with the upcoming Tuesday noted on the tab, and remember that payment is sent by our team rather than on a fixed batch date.
  3. Review your payment method and make sure all details are complete and correct.
  4. Check whether the expected date falls on a weekend or holiday.
  5. If the status says Paid or Processing, allow additional time for your bank or provider to post the funds, and check your account again.

πŸ“ What Information to Have Ready

If your payout still looks delayed after these checks, having the right details ready helps our team look into it faster. Please have the following on hand:

  • The payout amount
  • The date the payout became eligible or was marked Pending
  • The timeframe shown on your dashboard
  • The payment method you use
  • A screenshot of the payout status, if possible

πŸ™‹ When to Contact Support

Reach out if your payout is still Pending well after the timeframe shown on your dashboard and the next batch date has passed, if the status says Paid but you have not received the funds after allowing time for your bank, or if you think your payment details are wrong and you cannot update them.

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.

πŸ“Œ Quick Summary

  • Pending means your payout is recorded and waiting for the next batch.
  • Payouts are released in batches, so timing depends on when the next batch runs.
  • The dashboard timeframe is an estimate and can be affected by cutoffs, reviews, payment details, and bank processing.
  • Keeping your payment details accurate is the best way to avoid delays.
