πŸ” What This Article Covers

Some customers notice a block of keywords or a group of links near the footer of their page HTML and worry that it looks like keyword stuffing. This article explains where that content comes from, how to find it, and how to have it removed.

πŸ’‘ Why You See These Elements

OTTO applies optimizations to your pages at the page level instead of editing the files in your CMS or theme. Two of those optimizations can add content near the bottom of the HTML:

  • Hidden NLP keywords: a block of related terms and phrases meant to help search engines understand the topic of a page.
  • Dynamic indexing links: a set of links meant to help search engines discover and re-crawl pages on your site.

Because OTTO adds this content when the page loads, you will not find it in your theme editor, page editor, or footer template. This is why many customers cannot locate it in their website files.

πŸ”Ž How to Find the Content on Your Page

  1. Open the page you want to check in your browser.
  2. Right-click the page and choose View Page Source. You can also use your browser's Inspect tool.
  3. Press Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac) and search for a keyword you suspect was added, or scroll to the bottom of the HTML near the footer.
  4. Look for a hidden paragraph of comma-separated terms with class otto-nlp-module (NLP Terms) or otto-missing-keywords-module (Missing Keywords), or for empty hidden anchors with class otto-dynamic-indexing-module. All carry data-otto-pixel="dynamic-seo" and style="display:none", so nothing shows on the rendered page.

Tip: Either View Page Source or Inspect will show this content. It is inserted into the HTML response by the OTTO pixel, so it is not limited to the live DOM. The terms sit in a display:none paragraph and the indexing links are empty anchors, so you will not see them rendered on the page itself.

βš™οΈ How to Remove or Turn Off These Elements

Follow these steps in your Search Atlas account:

  1. Log in and open your OTTO SEO project for the affected website.
  2. In the OTTO project, open the issue list. The keyword block comes from Content Optimizations β†’ Semantic Analysis and Knowledge Graph Optimization (NLP Terms) and, if present, Missing Keywords. The links come from Dynamic Indexing, a sitewide issue that requires Google Search Console. There is no separate settings page for these, and the labels do not change by plan.
  3. Open the NLP Terms row for the affected page and click Undeploy all, or undeploy the individual terms. Do the same for Missing Keywords if that block is present. For the links, open Dynamic Indexing and undeploy or delete the listed URLs. Undeploying removes the injected markup; there is no per-page control for Dynamic Indexing because its links are added only to the homepage footer.
  4. The change is applied as soon as you undeploy. No save button is needed.
  5. Reload the page, check it again using the steps above, and confirm the block is gone. If you still see it, clear your site cache and any CDN cache.

To remove NLP Terms from every page at once, use Deploy All / Undeploy for the Semantic Analysis and Knowledge Graph Optimization category in the OTTO task list. Dynamic Indexing is a single sitewide list, so undeploying or deleting its entries removes the links from the homepage in one step. Contact support only if the block remains after undeploying and clearing cache.

πŸš€ After the Content Is Removed

  • Clear your caches. Purge your caching plugin, server cache, and CDN so visitors and crawlers see the updated page.
  • Request a re-crawl. In Google Search Console, use URL Inspection and click Request Indexing for your most important pages.
  • Monitor your rankings. Search engines can take days or weeks to process changes, so check your performance over a few weeks instead of expecting an immediate shift.

πŸ“Š About Keyword Stuffing Concerns

Third-party SEO audit tools sometimes flag a long list of repeated or unrelated terms as keyword stuffing. If you are concerned, it is reasonable to remove the block. Removal also helps you rule it out as a factor if you are investigating a ranking drop. Rankings depend on many factors, so a ranking change should be checked against other causes too, such as content updates, technical issues, and algorithm updates.

βœ… Quick Checklist

  • Check the page using Inspect to confirm the content is there.
  • Disable the NLP keyword and indexing link optimizations in your OTTO project.
  • Clear your site and CDN caches.
  • Request re-indexing in Google Search Console.
  • Re-run your SEO audit to confirm the warning is gone.
